With our first baby on the way there was lots of work to be done to make this little gem a place to call home. The home we created to raise our three boys and now home to Purple Lips Pies was once, The Riverside General Store, built in 1947. The building/house was moved to the property from 8 miles north of Andrew, Alberta in 1997 and served as a store and tea room for The Stubbs Family – U-pick.
Little did we know we were sitting on a little piece of history in the Lamont County community. Having only moved from Ontario, Canada in 2011 we had no idea how much Saskatoon Berries were loved by the folks in Western Canada. I now had 5 acres of Saskatoon Berries at my disposal. It was time to learn how to make pastry and master the Saskatoon Berry Pie! I hope you enjoy eating pie as much as I enjoy making them!
