I’ve posted to my story… but I wanted to also make a quick post…
First off, I want to say thank you so much to every one of you. You have supported me and my family incredibly from the beginning of my cake journey… and I am always so blown away by the outpouring of support! Each step of the way I have appreciated every order, like, comment and share… you’ve sent shout-outs and sweet messages, it’s incredible!
September is marking some changes in our family, and with those changes I am having to shift my focus to the home front… I have had to reassess and pivot… As of September I will no longer be accepting custom cake orders… I will still be honouring all orders that I have on the calendar until December of course 💕 I am still offering treatboxes, cupcakes, macarons and cream puffs 💕 so you will still have lots of tasty treats… Thank you again for all your love and support, without you guys I would never be where I am… and heaven knows I wouldn’t have even learned to make Macarons 😂 I’m excited for this new season and I’m excited to see how these new changes translate into real life… if you have any questions, I’m happy to chat in DM’s 💕 you guys are amazing💕

It’s been a second since I’ve posted... not because I’ve run out of cake... it’s just that one more thing it seems... there are so many things I’ve dropped... ask my friends, I am 100% the worst texting friend 🤦🏼‍♀️ I should never read a text before I am ready to text back... some things that are so simple can feel so hard... this year especially... but it’s ok to start new every day and try to hit those goals again... I guess what I’m trying to say is if you feel like you blew it yesterday, go ahead and give yourself permission to try again today... I know I can get stuck in a funk when I fail... so I have to be very intentional about restarting... So here is me, as flawed as all the rest, facing the overwhelm once again and starting fresh... 🍻here to November 25th being more successful than the 24th... because baby steps are allowed!

Ok! I finally was able to carve out a minute to take some pictures of this gorgeous piece of art by from our collab... the pictures can not do justice to the texture and intricate details of this piece... but I am in love and I can’t wait to get a wall painted in my cake room just so that this beauty will look amazing on the wall... panelling or no panelling... I need a pretty backdrop for this gorgeous painting 💗 I look forward to collaborating with my friend again one day... until then, I will stare at this beauty in my cake room while I create

Well, here it is! The inspiration picture is at the end... I loved every minute of this process... it was so much fun! It challenged me a lot, I tried new techniques and new recipes... this cake from start to finish took me close to 10 hours... what do you guys think? I love how ’s art translates to cake... it was so fun and I would love to do this again sometime... do you guys know any artist that would translate well on cake? Tomorrow I will share her beautiful art piece! I’m so excited to get it hung up in my cake room 🥰

A final family picture for you today... it was Matt’s Nans birthday 💕 she is so very special to us... she welcomed me into this family immediately and I have always felt like one of her own... she calls all my kids “ducky” and even the most stoic among them will smirk and let her hug them... so this cake and platter had to have all my best... a palette knife cake with lavender springs painted on, lavender earl grey shortbread cookies, chai tea oatmeal raisin cookies, earl grey cream puffs and chocolate raspberry cream puffs... this whole picture of goodies was completely customized with Nan in mind. Love you so much Nan 💕 (I would have included a picture, but Nan really hates social media, so I will respect her preference💕)

Tonight’s a night off with my best friend. Tonight we celebrate 14 years of choosing each other forever... best choice I ever made, hands down 💕 life has been full of ups and downs and all arounds, thanks for doing the good, the bad and the ugly with me... I couldn’t ask for a better partner 😘 happy 14th babe 💗

Well this is not my usual post... but this one is special to me 💕 my son made some very specific requests... he wanted Macarons and carrot cake... but he doesn’t like icing or filling... so this is what I came up with... I came up against all kinds of obstacles... one being dreaded cracked Macarons... normally I would have to remake them... but actually, my kids eat all my cracked macs... so this time, I decided to work with it... and see if I could still create something beautiful out of something that would be thrown away.. success, Aaron loved them, he loved that they looked like cracked rocks... I decided to use this as my submission to the kintsugi is something that I learned about last year, the art of taking something broken and rather than throwing it away making it a beautiful art piece... I took place in a class last year, you chose a bowl that represented you... and then you broke it with a hammer 🔨 understanding that this represented the difficult things you walk through... and then you glue it back together with gold and epoxy... showcasing that we can still be beautiful with our scars... the trials we walk through can produce good in us... bad things aren’t good, but how we approach healing from our pain defines how we look at the end... we all have scars, and I want to look like a kintsugi creation rather than a cracked macaron or shattered bowl. It takes time and patience and perspective shifts... but we can choose to walk towards shining brightly in spite of our scars... being an example to others who are looking for hope in their situation... you can do it, we don’t have to stay broken, we can transform.
Thank you Noorun and Rania for hosting this collab... it was perfect timing to be in this headspace when my macs cracked for my sons birthday 💕

Ok... so one suggestion I have had for my IG feed... is more of the process... admittedly, I don’t have a lot of progress shots and videos yet... for a while it was because it was always nerve wracking getting from point A to point B... “will this go how I want it to?” My confidence has been a journey... so... I am going to start documenting the process more for you guys... cause you wanna see it and I am excited to share how your beautiful celebration cakes come to be... this will take some time as I start making them and piecing them together... but get ready to see some of the messy process in the cakes to come 💕 swipe to see this cake come together ☺️

Again it was one of those times that I got to make a cake for a friend that suited their personality... and when I got a video of him opening his cake like it was a present 🥰 that was the best gift I could receive... the comment “its even a mule-deer!” Made my day (total fluke to be honest, but I’m thrilled with the fluke and how it was received) thank you to each and every one of you who have trusted me with cakes for your special occasions.. I love to be a part of how you celebrate 💕 doing this as a job has been an incredible journey and gift. I’m loving what it is becoming 💗
