Should you have a recognized cake style?

There are lots of opinions, but for me it has always been about creating the best cake I can for each client.

Even though your natural style shines through, what I understand about my particular style is that it’s not static.

Maybe it’s an ADHD thing, but I like new artistic challenges, I mean, I THRIVE on it.

Propose an idea I haven’t done yet?

I’m IN.

This customer was looking for a 🌪️ tornado because her husband is restoring a vintage Plymouth Duster.

I could print the logo, but I’ve wanted to try spinning sugar…..

Is it perfect?
No.

I’m I kind of a get it perfect decorator?
Yes.

But I’m giving myself the grace to be the baker who will try something different.

If you have a customer base who will roll with that, like I do, then I think you are pretty darn 🍀 lucky.

It’s okay to have a style where the consistent element is that it’s always something new.

You’re a Customer Forward designer.

And I think that is just fine.

What do you think?🤔

I haven’t posted a creation video for quite awhile, so I thought I’d share the process of painting a cheetah print on a buttercream cake.

I used SWEET STICKS™ Sweet Sticks edible paint, which is product I really love and highly recommend, a flat edge brush and a chilled Swiss meringue buttercream cake.

I had to open and close my fridge a few times while painting, but the paint is so lusciously smooth, it didn’t take long to finish the pattern.

I’ll post the finished cake soon!
