You know what’s pretty incredible? How you can stop doing something for over three years and, when you decide to try it again, your cake tribe is still there and comes out to support you. Seeing all of your faces last night gave me the energy boost I needed to fill my table for today’s fair at the museum. We made many changes like offering fewer flavours and going with pre-packaged cupcakes but you understood. Thank you; it was truly touching to see you and hear from you. From the messages we received to the photos of friends camping out outside waiting for it to open. Sharing stories and memories of past cake orders with you - my heart is so full. I hope you’re all having cupcakes for breakfast today and if you’re out, I’ve got more from 10-3. - hey, jude. … and stella!

It’s been over three years since we last baked a cupcake. We worked hard at being a family of four and adjusting to our new normal. Together, we faced a new home, a new child, a pandemic, many happy memories and also some heavy moments. We loved, we learned and we grew. Most importantly, we took the time to just “be”. I’ll be honest, I didn’t think I missed hey, Jude and baking.

Sometimes though, a girl can be way off with what she thinks…

Tomorrow, for flashback Friday, we are trying something new - a pop up shop. For now, we are just that: a once-in-a-while opportunity to share Jude and Stella’s love of all things chocolate and sweet. This means that we won’t be opening custom orders. This means you’ll find us at the Museum of Northern History tomorrow evening from 6-9 or until sold out and Saturday from 10-3. We’ll be joining other makers in an effort to spread some holiday cheer and local magic.

Testing these waters will take some time for us and we’ve simplified our process to allow for a healthier balance.

I hope you remember us from three years ago but I also hope you will follow along as we edit our story and refresh our vision as: hey, Jude. …and Stella!

Hey everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone still follows the hey, jude. page. We’re still here but not yet back in the kitchen. My kitchen aid just isn’t calling my name yet. For those of you who haven’t heard, I have begun teaching some art classes though as a means to remain creative while being a baby mama and watching Stella grow at home. As far as updates go, she’ll be eight months old on March 8th and is doing so well. She’s nearly fourteen pounds, her favourite print is leopard, she loves to chomp on cantaloupe, oranges and dill pickles and cannot get enough of her big brother Jude. Her eyes are as blue as the ocean, they melt our hearts every day. Here are some upcoming art dates and a poster introducing my newest project: art pop-up birthday parties and special events. Let me know if you’re interested or contact the museum to register for the dates listed! Spots are limited. Also, I’ve attached a few photos of our sassy doll.
