TLDR: We are not accepting custom cake orders after June 30. We will however be making more cakes than ever, in the form of our Signature Cakes, Surprise Me Cakes, Cake Pre-Orders, & Cake Story Sales!

I know a lot of you will be disappointed by this news. Creating one-of-a-kind custom occasion cakes has been the most rewarding creative outlet for me over these past few years, & I’ve resisted this inevitable step as long as I could. But the fact is that every custom cake leaving The Coffee Plant kitchen is made by one person, & one person can only do so much.
As our business grows and demand continues to increase, I can no longer handle the sheer volume of Custom Cake requests we receive. The hard truth is that custom designs, while incredibly fun, have so much hidden time behind them (clarifying emails, planning, shopping/ordering, designing, researching, testing, baking, decorating, packaging, delivering). In the same amount of time it takes to create one Custom Cake, we can instead accept 2-3 Signature Cake orders - & more cakes means more happy customers (& fewer disappointed ones)!
So while there are still a few dates available in June, we aren’t accepting any Custom Cake orders moving forward. You are still able to order our pre-designed Signature Cakes (& we will be adding new options soon!) and if you’re feeling adventurous, we have left Surprise Me! cake orders open (at least for now). Custom Cupcakes are also currently still an option.
I’ll be taking a bit of time to reinvest creativity back into our everyday treat offerings, but plan to explore offering Cake Pre-Orders & Cake Story Sales in the future.
This doesn’t mean the end of cakes; in fact, just the opposite! Our cake has become such a central part of our business, & we can’t wait to share even more of it with you!
