For next week, we are offering PRE-ORDER ONLY, with pick up Thursday, Oct. 8th 9am to 11am. The bunkie will be closed for the weekend.
In addition to our regular bread offerings, we're taking orders for pies. Pumpkin, Sweet Potato, Apple, or Strawberry Rhubarb. Fresh baked, or frozen. Apple pies can be fully baked, fresh or frozen, or unbaked frozen.

Did someone say CAKE?

Introducing our Black Forest Snacking Cake. All the chocolate, cherry, and whip cream deliciousness of a Black Forest Cake (minus the red food colouring) in a less formal format. We bake a rich chocolate cake in an 8 x 8 pan, carefully slice it in half so we can layer it with sweetened whip cream and made in-house cherry filling in the middle and on top! Real Food - Really Delicious!!!!
We'll have a few extra pans in the bunkie fridge - AND a few servings by the slice too!
8 x 8 pan - 6 to 9 servings depending on appetite

Also, some sourdough, Strawberry Rhubarb & Oat Cookies, and some Brown Butter Sourdough Chocolate Chip Cookies too!

We still have a few loaves left! Here til 5pm!
Not sure what to have for dinner? Our focaccia make a great base for all sorts of things... sandwiches, or as 'dippy dippy bread' in almost anything... soup, spaghetti sauce, Sloppy Joe's, heck you can even turn it into pizza! Or a fried egg sandwich.

Also 2 cheddar jalapeno, 1 just cheddar, and plain sourdough too! So you could have grilled cheese!

Add a bag of cookies for dessert and your all set! We've got chocolate chip AND brown butter sourdough chocolate chip!!!

This Week at the Bunkie – September 11 & 12

Bunkie Hours:
Friday 1 to 5, Saturday 11 to 5
Order deadline moved to noon Thursday this week.
We're baking this week AND our kitchen is still steamy with the canner on the front burner so we'll still keep the menu simple.

Focaccia is one product we don't talk about a lot - but we make a REALLY, REALLY delicious focaccia - REALLY! Good things take time. Focaccia is one of those things that can't be rushed. As it takes up a lot of kitchen real estate we're only offering it to our Bunkie customers on Saturday after 1pm.

Here's what we're making this week:
Sourdough - Plain, Cheddar Jalapeno, or Just Cheddar
White Bread
Focaccia 9 x 13, Olive Oil and Sea Salt (available Saturday after 1pm)
Cookies...good old fashioned chocolate chip - some peeps will be really happy about that!

Frozen Sourdough Pizza trials will be coming up at the end of September...if you haven't already - let us know if you'd be interested in participating in our test run.

If you missed our deadline, reach out anyways - we usually make a few items for drop-ins that could be reserved. Thanks for supporting this local small business!

Lemon Crinkle Cookies are in the oven! All the wonderful bunkie visitors have nearly cleaned us out!

It's Saturday of the Labour Day weekend and we are open until 5 today. We have a few things left. After a flurry of visitors yesterday we managed a few extra things for today.

In addition to a few loaves of bread we have a focaccia bread and 1 Raspberry No-Bake Cheesecake available.

This Week at the Bunkie – Sept 4 & 5
Friday, September 4 – 1 to 5, Saturday, September 5 – 11 to 5

September brings a new schedule for many of us, including our Bunkie hours. We will no longer be open on Thursdays, and we'll be closing a little earlier on Fridays. As always though, we may be able to work around your schedule for pick ups – please just ask if you need something outside of this schedule. We live and work here – which allows for some flexibility.

Canning season continues here – so our baked goodies are limited.

The last few weeks we have been selling out of Cheddar Jalapeno and Traditional Sourdough. Last week we sold out of White Bread by Friday afternoon. Please be sure to order ahead so you're not disappointed.

Unfortunately, we are having some sourcing issues with our base flour and regret we will have to implement some price adjustments over the next while. We are still working on an affordable solution.

This Week at the Bunkie – August 27 to 29

The pickles are coming, the pickles are coming! We're back from vacation and the garden has gone bonkers so there's little time for baking with so much produce to process. This week's offerings are limited but as always, fresh and delicious!

Reminder for those who intend to just drop by while the bunkie is open – not everything hits the shelf at once. Our kitchen is tiny, and Thursday is still mostly a prep day and Friday morning we do some large wholesale orders before we can start stocking the Bunkie shelves. We'll have some fresh bread on Thursday for sure. If you want something specific – please be sure to order in advance.

Field Cucumbers! We have lots and lots of them!
Zucchini – they're larger than we like for sauteing or for a stir fry – scoop out the insides, chop 'em up and they're still a fresh and delicious addition to your summer suppers!
