For everyone navigating celiac disease, allergies, intolerances, or food restrictions today — I hope you get to spend less time explaining yourself and more time simply being part of the meal.

And to everyone who made room at the table, checked an ingredient, used a separate serving spoon, asked a question instead of making an assumption, or made sure somebody had something safe and delicious to eat:

The Kemptville Farmers’ Market is officially wrapped up, and we’ve got a few Thanksgiving treats left looking for a home! Because apparently, we baked enough to feed a small army. 😂

Everything has been kept refrigerated, with the pumpkin cinnamon buns tucked away safely in the freezer, ready for whenever that craving hits!

Kemptville, today is our final market of the season. ❤️

We’ll be at the Kemptville Farmers’ Market from 11 AM–3 PM at 200 Sanders St.

If you have a Thanksgiving preorder for Kemptville, today is pickup day.

We’ll also have items available for market shopping on a first come, first served basis.

There’s something a little bittersweet about the final market day. Markets have been such a big part of connecting with so many of you face-to-face, and I’m incredibly grateful for everyone who stopped by, asked questions, tried something new, brought a friend, or made Bitty Birds part of their market routine.

Come say hi one more time before the season wraps up.

And don’t worry — the end of market season does not mean the end of Bitty Birds. ❤️

Thanksgiving with celiac disease can involve a surprising amount of mental math.

Who made the gravy?
What went in the stuffing?
Was that spoon used in something else first?
Do I need to bring my own food?
And how do I ask all of that without feeling like I’m interrogating the host?

So today’s post on The Gluten Free Lady is about making Thanksgiving a little less exhausting.

Gluten-Free Thanksgiving Without the Kitchen Meltdown is a practical guide for both guests and hosts — because the goal shouldn’t be to spend the entire holiday worried about food.

A few things that can make a big difference:

• Ask questions before the day of the meal instead of trying to figure everything out at the table.
• Keep packaging and ingredient labels when cooking for someone who needs gluten-free food.
• Think about shared utensils, serving dishes and condiments, not just the recipe itself.
• If you’re the gluten-free guest, bringing your own food is sometimes the easiest option — and that doesn’t mean anyone failed.
• And if you’re hosting, you do not need to create an elaborate second Thanksgiving dinner. One genuinely safe, thoughtful option can mean a lot.

Thanksgiving is getting close, which means I’m bringing this one back. 🦃

I wrote A Cozy Gluten-Free Thanksgiving: Navigating the Minefield last Thanksgiving, and honestly, the tricky parts of navigating a holiday meal with celiac disease haven’t changed much.

The turkey can have surprises.
The gravy needs checking.
The butter dish can become a cross-contact disaster surprisingly fast.
And sometimes the hardest part isn’t even the food — it’s figuring out how to explain, again, why “just a little” isn’t really an option.
