We’re officially getting in the Halloween mood over here. 👻

This weekend we have chocolate spider cupcakes, a vanilla spider web cake, ghost sugar cookies and pumpkin truffles that make me want to eat them in one bite.

The cupcakes and cake both have cookies and cream frosting, so yes… if you don’t like Oreos, these probably aren’t for you.

But also… who doesn’t like Oreos anyway??

Bring some home to your little goblins, your big goblins, or just for yourself after a long day of figuring out what you’re going to be for Halloween!

And as usual, when Loryn O'Brien is baking and decorating, these treats won’t be around for long.

Pretty sure we broke a record with our last cake — it lasted about 4 hours.

So consider this your very friendly, slightly spooky warning. 🕷️

Our soup this week is Borscht! ❤️

Made with local beets from Fundy Farms: local harvest this one is earthy, bright and exactly what you need this week.

Served with a dollop of sour cream, green onions on top, and a slice of our sunshine bread on the side.

Available this week but only for a limited time. Borscht ALWAYS goes fast!

Minestrone is our soup this week and in my opinion, it’s the perfect October soup. I love me some Minestrone!

It has noodles and has a few of our favorite fall veggies — turnip, carrots, tomatoes. There's a few of us here that aren't excited about the colder temps but this soup is giving sweater weather in the best way.

It’s hearty and exactly what you need when it’s chilly or rainy outside and you just need to warm up a bit.

It won’t last long, so come grab a bowl while we still have some.

And just a little reminder of our fall hours:

Wednesday, Thursday & Friday we open at 9am and close at 3:00
Saturday & Sunday we’re here from 9:00 - 4:30

A little Friday PSA:

Sunday is National Cinnamon Bun Day.

Yes, it's a real thing. No. I did not invent it as an excuse to sell you cinnamon buns. 😂

We’re keeping things simple this year — no baking hundreds of buns and packing them in my trunk to bring them to Moncton, no radio fanfare, no order deadlines.

Just really good cinnamon buns, delicious coffee, and a Sunday at the cafe. You come to us! Because it's Sunday and you NEED one of our buns.

If you’ve been looking for an excuse to come see us… I feel like the universe has handed you a pretty decent one.

National Cinnamon Bun Day is this Sunday, Oct 4th and it kinda snuck up on us.

And while we're not going all-out with anything big this year, it feels slightly wrong to let a day dedicated to cinnamon buns go by without acknowledging it.

So... consider this your early warning.

Sunday, October 4th.

End of the summer season has arrived and we're back to our fall hours - starting Monday, Sept 7th.

Monday-Tuesday = closed
Wednesday-Friday = 9am-3pm
Saturday-Sunday = 9am-4:30pm

Thank you to our regulars for continuing to visit the cafe during our busy season when it's loud and chaotic! And for the locals who stay away in the summer (you know who you are 🧐), come on back!

Thank you to every single tourist for making the past 60 days another wildly fun adventure. Without you, we wouldn't be able to exist in the winter months and we definitely wouldn't have learned as much about the cities and countries you call home.

Thank you to our repeat customers who make the cafe a destination year after year. We recognize your faces, even though we may not know your names.

And to everyone else who feels they don't fit into one of those categories... we appreciate you all!

THANK YOU to the incredible cafe staff who work tirelessly making exceptional food and who never stop providing exceptional customer service. We were not without our challenges and we made it through every one of them... YOU ARE THE BEST!

End of July means one thing… Hodge Podge is back! 🥕🥔💚

Made with all the fresh-from-the-garden veggies from Angela at Fundy Farms: local harvest, this is one soup (or meal, depending on who you ask!) that people wait all year for.

Loryn O'Brien always looks forward to making Hodge Podge (like a kid at Christmas) and she’s absolutely outdone herself this year.

Fresh carrots, potatoes, green and yellow beans, cream, milk, butter… simple ingredients that become deliciousness in a fricking bowl!

It’s a true local favourite, and every summer we see familiar faces coming back for their annual bowl. And tourists who become intrigued as we tell them about this summer soup/stew/meal that we call Hodge Podge.

If Hodge Podge is part of your summer tradition, it’s here for the next few days. We can’t wait to serve you!
