So a strange turn of events.....

Our power has gone out. It seems to be us us and our neighbor, so I will not be baking tonight for the stand tomorrow. Sorry to disappoint. We will be open again next weekend.

Good evening all!

Because of the rain tomorrow our stand will be closed For Saturday. We will be open Sunday with fresh breads and a few other treats! I hope you will visit us then!

The bear did not return last night, thank goodness!!! So today we decided to add our first honey super to the hive that the bear knocked over yesterday. It wasn't the best day to open the hive, as it was overcast and cool out. It was a pretty quick in and out but the the vibrations from tightening of the ratchet strap they were not pleased with. Hopefully in a few weeks it will be full of beautiful golden honey! In the meantime will will be looking into and electric fence set up to keep the bear out in case it decides to return.

The clean up from our 🐻 visitor that we had this afternoon. This was not on our bingo card for today. The bees were very agitated.

We had a visitor earlier this afternoon. Unfortunately this one was not so friendly. A naughty black bear has discovered our bee hives and knocked over one of our bee boxes.
The clean up didn't take too long but boy oh boy those bees were angry. A few stings along to way. The cover has some deep stretches and a puncture hole. The hive has been patched strapped to keep make it a bit more difficult if the bear tries to get into them again. Keep an eye out for the bear if you are in the area.
