Spooky season is creeping in, and you know I couldn’t resist trying something dark and dramatic 🖤🕯️ I’ve been wanting to make a candle cake for what feels like forever. But it always felt like one of those “someday” projects I’d never actually get to.

Then I saw a reel of this exact style and in that moment i just knew that i had to give it a go, and I’m so glad I did. These candles turned out even better than I imagined, and I’m already planning the next round. 🕯️✨

🐄🎀 This is what happens when cowgirl energy goes full-time diva. She wanted cute. She wanted extra. She wanted everything. And ohhh, did she get it✨ Cow spots🐄, pink bows🎀, and disco balls💿 — because subtle was never on the guest list.

Thank you to my fabulous client for giving me the chance to create something this bold 💖 It was such a blast to make, and seeing it light up your special day was the cherry🍒 (or should I say disco ball💿) on top.

Creating this little princess cake for this baby girl’s first birthday was an honour. Seeing her sweet face light up and hearing how much this moment meant to her mama? That’s the part that stays with me 🥹

Ever come across one of my posts and wondered what makes Maude’s Bakery different from all the other options out there?

Here’s the truth: I didn’t even like cake when I first started baking.

Wild, right? But it’s true.

Every time I made a cake, I felt… disappointed. The sweetness was just too much. The icings? Overwhelming. I started to wonder if cake just wasn’t for me.

But instead of giving up, I made it my mission to reimagine what cake could be—something balanced, something beautiful, and something people like me could actually enjoy.

I spent hours testing recipes, tweaking ratios, and rebalancing flavours
until I created something I’m proud to share: cakes that are just sweet enough—not overpowering— paired with silky smooth icing that complements the flavors instead of drowning them.

This journey wasn’t just about finding the perfect balance for myself—it was about offering that experience to others who’ve felt the same way. If you’ve ever thought “cake just isn’t for me,” I truly believe you haven’t tried the right one yet

If you’re someone who’s ever thought “cake is too sweet for me,” then I think you might just fall in love with mine.
