45 Wellington is a building of transformation ✨ today we got to see the original 1889 stone foundations, to which multiple kinds and orientation of brick were layed to build what was a flour and feed mill. Over the years, the brick in the basement was doubled (makeshift insulation), basement windows were closed in, doors were dug out... today we added a lintel to support the hole we carved into the side of the basement- a permanent mark of the building’s new purpose.
Construction has been going steady, but not without challenge or delay. Every trade has agreed that this retrofit is a REAL challenge, but the final product is going to be magical 🌈🔥⭐️

We can’t wait for the day to come where we can open these doors to you 🤗 be sure to follow for updates!

45-55 Wellington were part of what was once considered Alexandra Terrace. Here is a view down Wellington from the 1970s. The brick from the facade of the building was once painted all white!

After Morris Brothers Flour and Feed Mill left 45 Wellington, the Hamilton branch of the Orange Crush Bottling Company took up residence for over a decade during the 20's and 30's. I wonder if the recipe is still the same? 🍊🍹
