Sometimes, the sweetest orders come at the last minute 🤍
Yesterday, a lovely woman reached out with a special request. Her kitchen is currently being renovated, and today is her daughter’s birthday. She was hoping I could make a cake for her daughter’s special day. 🎂💕

Normally, a next-day cake order just isn’t something we can accommodate — we’re usually pretty booked.
But this time, everything came together… and we were so happy we could say YES! 🥰

A rich chocolate cake, covered in chocolate ruffles and finished with delicate vanilla buttercream flowers — made especially for a birthday girl.

Because sometimes life gets busy, kitchens get renovated, plans happen at the last minute… and you just need a little cake magic. ✨

Happiness is… blessing people’s lives, helping people feel seen, heard, and cared about.
Working Kemp Care Network gives me the opportunity to do exactly this, through cooking and baking for residents, their families and friends, the staff and the volunteers and even delivery people - lol!
Happiness is also having a sweet local bakery- giving me the opportunity to bake for people who have food allergies and sensitivities and people who just want healthier baking! I am just feeling so utterly grateful right now ❤️🙌

I love our little garden. It’s nothing overwhelming. It’s delightful. It’s so fulfilling to come home from baking or from my part-time gig Kemp Care Network to a few more tomatoes, a zucchini or two and some peppers. We also have lettuce.
To me, it’s not just veggies, it’s a reward and a reminder of how little blessings can bring so much joy ❤️👩🏻‍🌾

Annnd, I got spoiled with a hand-made, one-of-a-kind vegan, gluten-free pizza (homemade vegan tomatoey sauce, vegan cheese, housemade pickles, chili flakes, shallots, hot peppers)..
Ohhh goodness meeeee!

Three years ago today, our precious Grand-Girl Georgie left this world, but she she is in our hearts and our thoughts always and forever.

It’s hard to believe that three years have passed. She was only three years and ten months old, yet her life touched more hearts than many do in a lifetime. She taught us about courage, perseverance, unconditional love, and the importance of cherishing every moment we’re given.

Today we remember her beautiful smile, her sweet spirit, and the joy she brought to everyone who knew her. We hold especially close her incredible mom and dad, whose unwavering love, sacrifice, and devotion to Georgie were a beautiful reflection of what it means to love sacrificially and completely.

We’re also thinking of her beautiful and brave big sister, who has carried Georgie in her heart every single day. The bond between sisters is never broken. Georgie will always be part of her story.

And as her little brother grows, we pray he will always know the remarkable big sister whose life, though far too short, forever changed our family.

Grief changes with time, but love never does. The ache is evident, but the love remains as deep as ever. Georgie’s legacy lives on—in the lives she touched, in the love she inspired, and in the family that continues to carry her with them every single day.

Forever in our hearts, we love you so very much, sweet Georgie. 💜

I don’t normally do this however, I truly know how it feels to have a loved family member receive devastating news 😭💔
Catherine has been 1 of my best friends for decades; she is like a sister to me.
She was recently hit hard with a devastating blow that rocked her world.
She was suddenly diagnosed with a rare brain cancer called CNS Lymphoma.
She was admitted abruptly and is receiving several rounds of what is called “The Matrix”, 6 aggressive drug treatments to attack this nasty cancer.
She and her family need our love and help.
Thank you for considering a donation of any amount to this GoFundMe. She had to stop her full time career immediately and there is no short term disability. She has bills to pay like mortgage, hydro, gas, taxes, groceries, etc. Her adult daughters have put their families and lives on hold to help their mom. Catherine has a family of 8.

The show must go on! Sooo, I’m still baking, even though we’re down 2 of 3 ovens!
Honestly speaking, I don’t mind. Life can be a rush, rush affair. With 1 oven instead of 3, it slows the pace a bit. After all, it’s the summer and after years of baking, I sense that’s its okay to slow the pace a bit 😌

Today, we celebrate the beauty, diversity, and communities that make Canada home. We also recognize that this day carries different meanings for many, especially Indigenous Peoples. May we continue to learn, listen, and move forward together with respect and hope.

As a small local bakery, I’m so grateful for this wonderful community. Thank you for supporting local and allowing us to be part of your family celebrations
