You are invited to Maravilha’s birthday 🌼

Come celebrate one sweet year with us at the Sackville Farmers’ Market on May 30th from 9–1 PM.

To celebrate, we’ll be giving away free cake slices while supplies last ✨

This past year has been filled with flour-covered mornings, markets, learning curves, beautiful people, and so much gratitude. Maravilha has grown more than I could have imagined, and I would love to celebrate this milestone with you.

See you there,
Nanda💕

I can do hard things.

Says the little voice in the back of my head. It wasn’t always like that.

Maravilha has been a journey of self-empowerment for me. Hard, painful, intense - not in a bad way, but in the way that growth often is. It took me out of my comfort zone and made me face my fears:
What if no one likes this?
What if I’m not good enough?

And at the beginning, that little voice wasn’t kind.
“You’re not good for business.”
“You don’t know how to do this.”
“You’re not capable of hard things.”

But it turns out I was capable.
And today, I feel the best I can be: my own best.

I’m here to tell you that you can do hard things despite what the bad voice in your head says, because that voice is not you.

You have to peel back the layers of paint that were put onto you and find your good voice, your truest self. And she will tell you that you are capable of things you never imagined. She will be so proud of you.

Thank you for being here.
Thank you for your support.
Thank you for helping me find my good voice.

Thank you 💕

This tastes like Brazil.

Said a customer to me. She bought some treats for her Brazilian partner, not knowing I’m from Brazil as well. He took a bite and said to her: “this tastes like Brazil.”

I woke up thinking about this moment today, alongside the thought that my baking is a reflection of my journey as an immigrant.

We don’t have scones in Brazil, and yet here we are having scones as our main product. I had a scone for the first time when I moved to Canada. I learned how to make them in Newfoundland. I discovered that scones are part of the daily life of many Canadian families, just like pão de queijo is for us in Brazil.

When you move to a new place, you carry your culture with you, but you also slowly embrace a new one. And somewhere along the way, those two parts start living together.

I fell in love with scones - this simple thing that feels like comfort to so many people. The kind of thing that makes someone think of their grandmother who used to make the perfect one.

That’s how I see my baking: simple, comforting, something that feels like a hug.

I bring my soul into what I bake, and maybe that’s why it tastes a little different.
Maybe it tastes like Brazil because it carries my memories, my culture, my homesickness, my joy, and also the life I’ve been building here in Canada.

A little bit of Brazil, a little bit of Atlantic Canada, all baked together
