We love the ocean & we love our community. It is these things that brought Rose & Rooster to life. We started baking for the Seaforth Market in 2011. We loved the smiles fresh baked bread and sweet treats brought to the faces of our neighbours and friends. Looking for a permanent place we are lucky to have found our home in the former co-op building, and we often hear stories of the of the olden d

ays. The photos on the walls reflect our place in the story of our village. Rose & Rooster is a local gathering place and a destination for folks out enjoying our beautiful beaches and wild spaces. Open, clean, bright and comfortable Rose & Rooster is a welcoming space, and we’re happy to have little visitors too. Bring your gadgets and you are welcome to use our wifi. DIRECTIONS: We are located on Highway 207. From Cole Harbour follow Portland St. It will turn into Highway 207 & you will pass through Lawrencetown, Three Fathom Harbour and Seaforth. Once you pass into Grand Desert it is just past the pond on your RIGHT< and hard to see! IF you get as far as Dyke Rd, turn around. And look for the building with the saloon front with a Rooster on it! From Porters Lake follow the 207 through Chezzetcook, into Grand Desert. Just past Dyke Rd we will be on the Left!

when Jeff and I started Rose & Rooster (out of our home in Seaforth!) we had a dream of connecting people over good, local food & i’m so proud of (and sometimes astounded by!) what it’s become. what clarified, over this long winter, is how RoRoo has become a community of its own that bigger and stronger and more than we could have imagined ♥️

If you’ve been in to Rose & Rooster since we reopened you’ll have noticed that some things are the same and some things have changed...
(and even if you haven’t you might have heard rumors!!)

I am absolutely thrilled to be passing on the torch to Guillaume, a creative and thoughtful person, and talented chef. 
Guillaume lives in Grand Desert and spends as much time in the ocean as he can but is absolutely committed to excellent food and a connected community.

Jeff and I and the kids will be around (of course we’ll see you at RoRoo for coffee!!)
If you’re looking for Jeff you’ll be able to find him making and fixing surfboards  
And I’m excited to be reconnecting with Architecture and you can follow my design/build adventures .zed

a big thank you to all our staff this year: it’s YOU who make rose & rooster so special for so many ♥️

this year has been a doozy for us and with all that’s been going on we need a break & i’m sorry to report we will be closing over the winter, but planning towards (& looking forward to!) seeing you all in the spring.
