It's been an incredible four years at the helm of Crowbar Real Foods, but it's time for me to spread my wings. It may seem a bit unorthodox to wrap up a business that's still successful, but I know it's the right thing to do. While I absolutely adore and appreciate my customers -- many of whom have blossomed into friends-- my heart is also pulling me in other directions, and I must follow. I wish I could split my Gemini self in two and have the other half make Avocado Fudge and Ravenous and Kale Chocolate Chip Muffins and boozy cupcakes and paleo cookies and Crowberry Cream Eggs and even (RIP) Crowbars for you in mass amounts until the end of time, but I've tried to cut myself in half before and it just didn't work.
It is my hope that you can forgive me for closing down the business, and that you'll satisfy your whole food treat urges by supporting the other incredible local businesses who tirelessly provide us with wholesome food, or even experiment with making your own. My other hope for you is that you choose to follow your heart and be fulfilled by what you do. Thanks a trillion to all my friends and family who helped me in various capacities since 2010-- I could never have run this one-woman show without you as my supporting behind-the-scenes cast. And to my customers-- I'm immeasurably grateful for supporting me far beyond how I expected any community to possibly support me. You haven't seen the last of me-- I'll still be around, working on cool stuff. So if you see me, say hi, and stop for a hug or a high five if you can.
All my love and appreciation,
Breighan Hunsley

P.S. This Saturday, November 15th, will be my last Saturday at the Halifax Seaport Market. If I have any Avocado Fudge or Ravenous left, I'll drop it off at the lovely World Tea House on Argyle Street and you can grab some there. I'll still be making HOWL, so give me a shout at [email protected] or 789-1858 if you need any.
