Can we take a minute to appreciate some seriously soul satisfying treats? 🙌

Today, I was treated to a beautiful plethora of fresh and flavourful treats made by Sour Jo's.

I had to split everything 4 ways because apparently I had to share with my "taste testers"🙄. Everything was so soft and bursting with flavour but it's the butter tart & chocolate sea salt cookie I had to negotiate for "the biggest piece".

As a fellow baker, I can definitely see, taste and appreciate the hard work and passion baked into each piece. Truly a labour of love and I can't wait to visit again. Now, should I make a chocolate sea salt flavored macaron? 🤔

With all the new faces around here, I thought it was time to properly introduce myself.

Hi, I’m Nicole 👋— the lady behind these tasty little macarons that have taken over your Facebook feed.

As far back as I can remember, I’ve always loved macarons. The crisp exterior, the soft and chewy interior, and that burst of flavour when you bite into the shell… there really isn't anything quite like them. That’s exactly the experience I wanted to bring to the Ottawa Valley.

With three growing boys (also known as the official taste testers), I’m always in the kitchen. If you come over to my house, nine times out of ten, that’s where you’ll find me. Cooking and baking have always been my way of showing love, and I take a lot of pride in anything that leaves my kitchen — whether it’s dinner for my family, a dish for a potluck, or a box of macarons methodically made for one of you.

I'll continue bringing you delectable macarons that are made with high quality ingredients, unique flavour combinations and look almost too good to eat...Almost 😉. I hope every bite brings you a little bit of joy and I thank you for being here, supporting local and following along on this sweet journey with me.
