To my amazing Northern Dough community ❤️
This is, without a doubt, the hardest post I have ever had to write.
After pouring my heart and soul into Northern Dough, I’ve made the incredibly difficult decision to close our doors.
Over the past two years, this little bakery has been so much more than a business. It became a place where friendships were made, milestones were celebrated, mornings began over coffee, and strangers became familiar faces. It became a second home, and each of you became part of our story.
Like many small businesses, we’ve faced rising costs, increasing expenses, and challenges that became harder and harder to overcome. I’ve spent countless hours trying to find a way to keep Northern Dough going. Every option was explored, every possibility considered, because giving up was never something I wanted to do.
Unfortunately, despite every effort, we’ve reached a point where continuing is no longer possible.
There are no words to express how heartbroken I am. This bakery was built with so much love, passion, hope, and endless hours of hard work. Closing these doors feels like saying goodbye to a dream that meant everything to me.
To every customer who stopped in for coffee, grabbed a loaf of bread, ordered a birthday cake, trusted us with your weddings and celebrations, shared our posts, recommended us to friends, or simply walked through our doors, thank you. Your support meant more than you’ll ever know. You helped make this dream a reality, and for that I will always be grateful.
To my incredible staff, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You stood beside me through the busy days, the stressful moments, the early mornings, and everything in between. Your dedication, kindness, and hard work helped make Northern Dough what it was, and I could never thank you enough.
While this chapter is ending, I truly hope the memories we’ve created together will live on. I hope you’ll remember the smell of fresh bread, the conversations shared over coffee, and the little moments that made this place special.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for believing in Northern Dough. Thank you for supporting local. Thank you for supporting me. Thank you for being a part of the dream that came true.
This isn’t the ending I ever imagined, but I will forever be grateful that this dream was possible because of all of you.
