Miss me? I know I missed you.

Making pizza dough with commercial yeast tonight.
Because bread is bread and this is quick(and delicious).

Use yeast. Use a preferment. Make sourdough.

I genuinely do not care.

What I care about is people acting like every fermented dough automatically inherits sourdough’s benefits.
That’s like working at reception but telling people you’re doctor.

If you’re making claims, show the evidence.
If the evidence is “trust me, bro,” it’s marketing, not science.

Now excuse me while I make pizza and I will be here this week with an update!

OUT OF OFFICE: ROAD TRIP EDITION 🚐🤎

If you know us, you know we love a good road trip. Last year we packed up a van with the kids, the dog and an unreasonable amount of stuff and drove all the way to Vancouver and back.

Apparently we learned nothing, because we’re doing it again. 😂

This weekend we’re loading up the van — kids, dog and all — and heading out for one week. A much shorter trip this time, but we’ve packed it with cool places we’ve never been, friends we get to meet along the way, and a whole lot of exploring.

So for one little week, the ovens are OFF and Crumb & Get It is officially on holiday. 🤎

We’ll be home soon and back taking orders for September 27th!

Until then: road snacks, hotel breakfasts, too much coffee and approximately 900 “are we there yets.” 🚐☕️😂

Our dishwasher is broken for approximately the 700th time since we bought it in January, so instead of our usual Saturday chaos, we’re stuck at home waiting for the repair guy — who is basically family at this point. 😂

We’re normally a Saturday-warrior kind of family, so we’re taking the forced slow morning for what it is.

Breakfast: our sourdough sandwich loaf with honey-whipped ricotta, beautiful colourful tomatoes, flaky salt, balsamic glaze + basil straight off the plant. Local peaches and prosciutto on the side.

Not mad about it. 👀

MAPLE PECAN SOURDOUGH 🍁

One of our fall flavours finally getting her moment. 🤎

Made with real maple syrup, loaded with pecans, and baked with that crispy, deeply golden sourdough crust.

And perhaps most importantly: the slices actually fit in your toaster. 😂

We toasted ours with butter + homemade apple butter this morning and can confirm this is exactly how fall breakfast should taste.
