“Shut up, fit in, and outperform.”
That was the survival checklist for the first 20 years of my life. Being identified as “intellectually gifted” at 4 years old wasn’t a blessing—it felt like a destructive curse.
I spent my childhood completely misunderstood, expelled from 4 different daycares, and labeled “weird” by adults who didn’t have the manual for my brain. So, I built a mask. I collected titles, chased perfect academic grades, and tried to become a cardiologist just for the external validation. I thought if I performed well enough, the inner pain would disappear.
But you can’t outrun your own mind. This is the story of how the pressure became too much, and how everything finally began to unravel.
