Given the scope and scale of wildfires currently burning in B.C., and to further protect public safety, recreational off-road vehicle use will be prohibited on Crown land in the Kamloops and Southeast Fire Centres, as well as parts of the Cariboo and Coastal Fire Centres. This prohibition is effective immediately, as of 12 p.m. (noon) on August 10, 2026.

ATCO Wood Products is looking for energetic and enthusiastic Weekend Sparkwatch/Labourers to join our team in Fruitvale.

💰 Starting rate: $35.66/hour
📍 Location: Fruitvale, BC

🔹 What You’ll Do

Work safely and efficiently while following all safety rules
Perform cleanup across the site
Assist trades employees with sparkwatch, cleanup, and other duties
Casual position with weekend shifts
(Occupational First Aid Ticket preferred)

Throwback to Fruitvale's beginnings 🌲

Long before today's modern mills, this was one of the first sawmills on Beaver Creek in Fruitvale. Early forestry operations like this helped lay the foundation for our community and the forest industry that continues to support families across the region today.

While technology has changed dramatically over the years, the values of hard work, craftsmanship, and responsible forestry remain as important as ever.
