This is a bittersweet day.
We will be closing our doors for the last time this Saturday, 30 May 2026
After almost seven years in various forms of operation, Simon's Kitchen and Bakery will have to close.
Physical and Mental tolls add up over the years, economic and global trends have a way of trickling down as costs continue to rise. In order to avoid any irreparable damage to my mind and/or body, I must step away.
This is not how I saw the final chapter in the adventure playing out but, as most things in life, its not fully in my control.
I want to thank all of our Wholesale clients that we've partnered with over the years - I got to see more of Fredericton than I ever thought I could.
I want to thank all the Market Organizers that have taken their time and effort to create such wonderful nodes of commerce and community all over the Greater Fredericton Area. I've seen everything from Lockdown era door to door delivery, to small village and township markets to jam packed Garrison style night and Christmas markets - and they're all a lot of fun.
I want to mostly thank all the staff and family and friends that have helped and supported me with this as there is no way I could have done this alone
I am not sure what the future holds but I know I'll still be making bread at home, biscuits, cinnamon buns... they're still my favourite.
Thank you City of Fredericton for all your support over the years. Thank you Village of New Maryland for allowing me to get my start. Thank you to everyone who came into the shops, came to see us at the market, who came to our classes and everyone that enjoyed our humble bakery.
It's time to move on,
