It is with profound sadness that I share this update.
The Calgary Police Service has confirmed that the body of a child believed to be 11-year-old Parker has been recovered. Formal identification by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is pending, but investigators believe it is Parker.
According to police, Parker entered a deep culvert on the west side of Deerfoot Trail and travelled through a network of stormwater pipes beneath the highway. He was located on the east side of Deerfoot. Due to the extremely hazardous conditions, Calgary Fire Department crews required specialized confined-space equipment to safely enter the tunnel system and recover him.
Police have also shared that Parker was still wearing the clothing he was last seen in. His shoes were no longer with him and are believed to have been washed away.
This is the outcome no one wanted.
Over the past two weeks, thousands of people held onto hope. Search and rescue teams, first responders, volunteers, neighbours, and people across Canada searched, shared, prayed, and refused to give up. I know so many of you followed Parker’s story here every single day, hoping the next update would bring him home alive.
To Parker’s family, friends, and everyone who loved him, my deepest and most heartfelt condolences. There are no words for a loss like this.
To every first responder, search and rescue volunteer, community member, and every person who shared his photo or searched their property—thank you. Your compassion and determination showed Parker and his family they were never alone.
Thank you to everyone in this community who shared my posts, left kind words, and helped keep Parker’s name and face in front of the public. Your support mattered.

UPDATE: Search for Parker Continues
As the search for 11-year-old Parker continues, Calgary Police and their partners continue an extensive effort to bring him home.
The west parking lot and pathway entrance to Nose Hill Park off Shaganappi Trail N.W. have now reopened, and the Calgary Police Service Mobile Command Vehicle has been relocated to the CPS District 3 office. This change does not mean the search has ended—specialized search operations continue.
Calgary Fire Department crews remain actively assisting with:
🔹 Waterway searches using inflatable boats and underwater cameras.
🔹 Searches of storm sewer infrastructure and other confined spaces.
🔹 Ground searches in parks, alleyways, and natural areas.
Police continue to ask the public for help.
Parker was last seen on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 12:52 p.m. He is:
• 11 years old
• 4’11”, approximately 90 lbs
• Brown eyes with a shaved brown haircut
• Last seen shirtless, wearing dark shorts and black noise-cancelling headphones
Parker is neurodivergent and non-verbal. If you see someone you believe may be Parker, do not approach him. Call 911 immediately.
Investigators are urgently asking:

• Travis Street N.E.
• Travis Crescent N.E.
• Trelle Drive N.E.
• Taylor Crescent N.E.
• Travis Place N.E.
• Thomas Street N.E.
📹 Anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage from July 16 onward in the Thorncliffe area is asked to submit it to investigators, even if Parker does not appear in the footage. Every piece of information helps investigators narrow down timelines and movements.
