This Black Forest cake was made for my father-in-law's birthday yesterday, and for my very first attempt, I think it turned out alright! 🍒🍫

Layers of rich chocolate cake, cherries, fresh whipped cream, and chocolate shavings— with my own special touch of whipped chocolate ganache between each layer‐it's such a classic for a reason.

As much as I'd love to add this one to my menu, Alberta's cottage food regulations mean I can't legally sell cakes made with fresh whipped cream. So for now, this beauty can only be admired from afar! ❤️

That being said... I wouldn't mind experimenting with a buttercream version that captures all those classic Black Forest flavours. Would that be something you'd love to see on the menu?
