It’s with great sadness and a heavy heart that we are announcing the death of someone very special to us.

On Monday morning my father in law & best friend Steve Pearson was involved in a tragic accident at his place of work.

Steve is survived by his wife Tara, his Childers Stevie & Cody and his grandchildren Lennox & Kade.

He will be greatly missed and forever loved.

January 10th, 2022

It is with great sorrow that we report the tragic loss of Brother Steve Pearson in a workplace accident this morning. Brother Pearson was the victim of a crush-type injury while working at Interfor Acorn Division. He received immediate attention from mill first aid attendants and paramedics but eventually succumbed to his injuries.

Three generations of the Pearson family worked or had worked at the Interfor sawmill. Steve had over 40 years of service at Interfor. He will be remembered as a respected and cherished employee and dedicated member of USW Local 2009.

Delta Police and WorksafeBC have turned the site over to the employer. The Local Union’s team is conducting their investigation into the incident.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Pearson family, his colleagues, friends, and all that have been impacted by this tragedy.
