Valentine’s Treat Boxes!!

I’m very excited to offer treat boxes for Valentine’s Day. A small amount of boxes will be available for pick up in Dartmouth this Friday and Saturday, Feb 12/13th.

From clockwise, starting top left:
—Chocolate macarons with chocolate ganache
—cinnamon macarons with cinnamon Italian buttercream
—miniature hot chocolate bombs (drop in to hot water or milk and stir for a yummy hot chocolate drink)
—chewy chocolate brownie blossoms
—Swiss almond carrot cake with lemon glaze drizzle
—milk chocolate covered salted pretzels
—Pasteis de Nata (Portuguese custard tarts), flaky butter crust with a creamy custard filling. Honestly, these are to die for and one of my all time favourite things on the planet to eat
—almond short bread cookie with a zippy raspberry German buttercream filling
—soft lemon Madeleine cookies

You can claim your box by sending me a message, and once you hear back from me, your box will be reserved and we can arrange for pick up.

Once the boxes are all claimed, then they’re sold out.

$40 per box. EMT or cash payments accepted.

My kids are quite mad at me because I’m not letting them have any of these treats.

Bread orders

This week I’m making cheddar/jalapeño sourdough, plain sourdough and oatmeal molasses bread. These are large loaves!

$7 for oatmeal molasses and plain SD
$7.50 for cheddar/jalapeño

I’m back on my bread game.

Due to many New Year’s resolutions to decrease sugar intake (or so I’ve been told), I figured now was the time to up the bread game and decrease the pastries. This picture is a loaf of whole wheat sourdough, made with a 16hr cold ferment.

Sourdough is a fermented food and therefore a very healthy choice. Fermented foods and whole grains do wonders for your gut health.

I have some white sourdough fermenting at the moment.

Loaves are $6 each.

Let me know if you’d like some of this tangy super food! Or if there are other flavours or different breads you’d like to see. Some of my favourites are molasses brown bread, cheddar/herb/garlic sourdough and ciabatta, challah and pizza dough.

Last of the holiday treat boxes went out this afternoon. I tried a new cookie this season, a chai spiced butter cookie. It was very yummy! Topped it with hazelnut praline Swiss buttercream.
Also in the box: eggnog macarons, mint chocolate macarons, chocolate covered roasted almonds, candied orange peel dipped in dark chocolate, almond Nanaimo squares and a traditional Linzer cookie with homemade raspberry jam.

The Mille-feuille

The name means a thousand sheets, but I grew up calling this dessert the Napoleon. Based on my quick google research, the two names are correct, but the Napoleon usually includes some whipped cream. This one is made with layers of puff pastry and pastry cream. I love the contrast between the crispy pastry and the smooth cream. Whatever you call it, it’s a a scrummy — shout out to Mary Barry. Let me know if you’d like one of your own!

Croissant Friday!!

I’ll have 7 orders of chocolate croissants up for grabs this Friday, Nov 20th. One box contains 4 buttery croissants with a smooth chocolate center, $12 each.

Remember the Flakie? This is my take on a childhood favourite. This one is made with flaky, buttery puff pastry and stuffed with loads of vanilla Swiss buttercream and strawberry jam.
