Calling all my cozy-season, coffee-loving, fall-obsessed people because Sweater Weather & Buttercream is giving small-town autumn festival, cute café, crunchy leaves, and way too much coffee energy. 🤎

On Sunday, September 27th at 3 PM, come spend the afternoon in the Katy Cakes Kitchen decorating 8 dreamy fall-inspired cupcakes while I guide you step by step through pumpkins, rosettes, piping techniques, and all the cozy little details.

No decorating experience needed. Just bring yourself, maybe your bestie, and your love for all things fall. I’ll provide all the tools and supplies, plus light bites and sips, because obviously no cozy afternoon is complete without snacks. ☕🧁

Finally got to bring one of my previous Pick & Pay cakes to life! 😍

I’ve been wanting to try my hand at the stained glass look for SO long and… I’m definitely not mad at it! 👏

Was it a learning experience? Absolutely. But you guys know me — that’s half the fun! Trying new techniques, figuring out what works, learning along the way and getting a little better with every cake.

I’m pretty dang pleased with how this one turned out, and I picked up a few fun new tricks along the way too. 🤍

Last week I was tasked with making a Pavlova Cake.

I had never made one before… and I had never even tasted one before. But you know me — I’m always down for a challenge. 😂

And a challenge it WAS.

But ohhhh my goodness… WORTH IT.

If you’ve never had pavlova before, it’s basically a beautiful baked meringue with a lightly crisp, delicate shell on the outside and the most incredible soft, marshmallowy centre. Then it’s piled high with fresh whipped cream and fresh fruit.

It’s sweet, light, creamy, slightly chewy, a little crisp… and somehow all of those textures together are absolute MAGIC.

For this one, I topped it with fluffy whipped cream, strawberries, raspberries and blueberries, and let me tell you… I completely understand the pavlova hype now. 🤤

It’s one of those desserts that looks elegant and fancy, but when you take that first bite it’s just ridiculously delicious.

Safe to say I learned something new, added another dessert to my repertoire… and may have discovered a new favourite along the way. 😂🤍
