Happy Sunday everyone, I hope amazing smiles have been happening, I have missed you all very much. Sorry this is a very extra long post as much to catch up on.
I made it to NS 3 weeks ago which has been quite heartwarming to be home again. I apologize deeply for not doing my last post before leaving AB, my mover decided to go silent which left me very busy doing a plan B. Boo bear & I had an adventure driving 4844 kms in 4 1/2 days. This showed me when you got a good country heart & determination anything is possible. We rocked it & seeing the NS border sign did bring instant tears as I knew I was home.
I do want to give special shout outs, to Claire at Tails To Tell for giving a carrier to me so boo bear could be safe on our travels. They rescue many fur babies but they also care deeply about the ones who have good homes that need some help. To Colin at My Pet Needs who answered many questions I had to ensure I had all for boo bear. He was always so happy to help me. I will be ordering some more cat kickers soon, lol. To Carmen & Chelsey at Carmens Bigway Foods for not hesitating when I asked for help to move my belongings to storage after they found out what happened with the mover. Thank you all so extremely much for your heartwarming ways. Living in Crossfield always felt like a small town back home, locals coming together to help each other.
Over this past week, I made a new goodie to CYB, mini old fashioned coffee cakes which turned out very delicious. I am making some yummy CYB favourites to introduce the locals to my baking tomorrow. I hope they enjoy them as much as all of you did. Stay tuned for another post to see what was on the menu.
Below was meant to be my last post before leaving on my journey home. I was a busy baker the week of August 10th & brought huge smiles with CYB’s yumminess.
Coralee who has been an amazing friend to myself & my Boo bear. She’s silica so I made her CYB’s gluten free energy balls. She enjoyed them very much.
Michelle who has been a dear friend for many years enjoyed some of CYB’s old fashioned peanut butter cookies. I questioned her to see if she remembered what she made with them the first time I baked them for her. Peanut butter cookie ice cream sandwiches, so awesome. She was all smiles when she received them.
Jason & Ashley challenged CYB to two new recipes. Jason with a sweet tooth wanted fruit loop cupcakes with a cream cheese filling. Topped with crumbled fruit loops.
Ashley being a coconut fan, I mare her two mini no bake coconut cheesecakes. To mention for the crust made with graham crumbs, I toasted the coconut then used a blender to make them into fine crumbs to add into the graham crumb. There is coconut milk & extract in the filling. She loved it immensely.
Both said they couldn’t stop eating both items as so extremely delicious.
It was such a great pleasure to end my baking ways in AB making these delicious goodies.
As mentioned before, it was such a true heartfelt pleasure meeting you all, having the honour of making many special orders. CYB was just a dream until November 2024. I decided to see how locals enjoyed my country baking as like my Grandma said, magic happens in the kitchen. Your continuous local support meant more than you know to me. You’ll always be family to me, if ever in NS, please message me as I would love to see you.
