It’s official! Piece of Cake is no longer accepting new orders as I am fully booked up for the remainder of summer and (as mentioned in a below post) will be closing up shop to return to university in September. Thank you again to each and every one of you who have supported me throughout the years and who have sent encouraging messages or comments lately ❤️ Also a reminder there is ONE WEEK LEFT to submit your cake photos to be entered to win a FREE CAKE! (Info in another post below). Winner will be chosen at random on July 31st. Thanks again & enjoy the rest of this beautiful summer. Giveaway time!! In honour of my recent announcement of the upcoming closure of Piece of Cake, I will be giving away a FREE CAKE* to one lucky customer. Here’s what you have to do (it’s easy!):
-Post a photo in the comments section below of you or a loved one posing with or enjoying a past creation from Piece of Cake.
-If you’d prefer not to be in the image, just a photo of the cake at your party or event is also fine!
-Please ensure anyone in the photo has given permission for his/her image to be posted.
-Multiple photos are allowed (and will up your chances of winning) but must be in separate comments and must be of DIFFERENT cakes (ie. repeat customers)

Winner will be chosen at random on July 31st!

I will be making a slideshow of all the photos, along with some of my favorite cake creations, and will post it when I announce the winner 🙂

*cake will be a 6” round, choice of vanilla, lemon, or chocolate, with buttercream frosting of choice.

To All My AMAZING Customers: It is with a heavy heart I announce that Piece of Cake will be closing indefinitely as of July 31st.

I will be returning to university in September to pursue my Masters Degree (Counselling Psychology) and it is not feasible to keep up my busy cake schedule alongside full-time studies. I will also be taking August off to spend some quality time with family before I begin my new adventure.

I started Piece of Cake several years ago as a newly single mother of two, simply following her passion. I never expected it to grow into a well-known small business and I have only you all to thank for that! Thank you for sharing my business on social media and through word of mouth and for coming back over and over again when you needed a special treat! It has been nothing short of an honour to have been a small part of so many special occasions. While most of my customers were local to the Comox Valley, I had several orders from as far away as Vancouver, Victoria, Tofino, Port Alberni, Campbell River, and beyond as well as phone calls from as far away as Newfoundland, Germany, Italy, and even Australia to make cakes for their loved ones residing in the Comox Valley! It was such a pleasure to put my heart and soul into every one of my creations.

I have created lasting friendships with many of you and will be forever grateful for your support, encouragement, and trust. The one thing I ask if that you continue to support local small businesses...there are SO many amazing local bakers and I know you will be in good hands.

So from my kitchen to yours, and from the bottom of my heart, thank you ❤️🎂
