One of my busiest weekends ever!

🍪 Catered Cole Harbour High's Prom for the fourth time!
🐑 Vended at Cole Harbour Heritage Farm Museum 's Fibre Frolic event
🧁 Fulfilled 5 orders
All while trying to stay on top of messages, spend time with Beau, working part time, shopping for supplies and ingredients, keeping my garden alive... and somewhere in there I was able to eat, sleep, and even have some leisure time! And I was only up late one night... until 4am... but it's fineeeee. All in the name of freshness!

I was so grateful to be invited to vend at this event, and we sold out 96 Cupcakes! We had enough stock right through the end - it was perfect.

I'm sooo happy that I got to bake cookies and squares as well!
I must say, those that get to try my Oatmeal Cookies, Almond Croissant Squares, or Chocolate Cupcakes are real lucky 🤤 Some of my favourites!

Hello everyone!

B*W is "Closed For Communications" this week.
Basically this just means that any new inquiries from Wednesday onwards, likely won't be responded to until Tuesday, June 9th.
If you have an active order or we're already communicating, I will continue to respond as soon as I can. I want to be clear that active inquiries and orders won't be affected!
I just have a lot going on this week, and want to manage expectations as far as response times.
As promised in my last post, I will be sending out responses to all inquiries I've already received, Tuesday (tomorrow) evening.

Announcing things like this is really difficult because I know folks will get the idea that I'm "too busy" and "don't need their order"... and I can't explain how heartbreaking that is.
Some weeks I have 0 orders, most I have 1 or 2, but every now and then I do get busy! (Thank you)
Every single order matters, and is what keeps Baked By Wray going.
Some weeks I get 0 new inquiries, some weeks I've got up to 10 all in one day. It's completely unpredictable, and sometimes I need to catch up.
I know that those who truly value my work will understand and be patient. 🩷
Sometimes I just feel very disposable when I can't operate on others timelines. But it's in my and my client's best interest for me to put a pause on new inquiries for a few days, to focus on prior commitments.

This week, I'm catering Cole Harbour High's Prom - prep for that will begin tomorrow, I have 5 orders for this weekend, and am vending at an event on Saturday.
As announced a couple posts back, I am trying to take Sundays and Mondays off, especially on busy weeks. And I have gone back to work part time, so I am in a transition period and balancing both my job and my business. So far it's going extremely well! But it's still an adjustment.
This past weekend I had a higher volume of orders (5) - 2 of which were quite large, and an event at work, so I've required extra rest.

I will not be having my mom doing pick ups when I'm at work.
Please be prepared to be flexible on pick up availability.
There's a lot of reasons it's just not something either of us are comfortable with.
This is effective until I am finished work in October.

Hi everyone!
I will be back working part-time starting Friday, into October. So pick up availability will be more limited Wednesdays, to Sundays, but I'm still working on what that will look like. And responses will take a few days.
I am also really passionate about gardening, and hope to be out in my garden lots this spring through fall.
As well as doing activities with Beau, and spending more time with friends and family. 🩷

That being said, Baked By Wray is of course still a priority, but I ask for your patience. My "hours" are my standard availability: 11am-7pm. However, I do not work 24/7. I don't work every day, and I don't work all day. I'm sure many will not see answering messages and doing admin as work, but I do. And it is essential for the sake of work-life balance to not be "on" all the time. It's just me running this business, and honestly, I have a lot of personal issues and sometimes I need more time. 😅

Please allow 3 days to receive a response.

Please do not message me asking me to rush, or you'll find someone else. That's poor etiquette, and I'm only interested in serving clients who genuinely want to work with me. Not folks looking for quick and cheap - that's what grocery stores are for... I would know.🙈

Lastly, if you're looking for donations, please remember to be personable and professional.
Most small/micro businesses don't have much to give, and have to be selective. Sending mass emails, repeat emails that go to spam, aren't addressed to me, aren't on a letterhead, have spelling/grammatical/punctuation errors, or otherwise are unprofessional; likely won't be answered.
Please keep in mind that I offer perishable items only, and it's not realistic for a business like mine to be donating $5 off a $55+ order coupon - because that's the best I could do.
In reality, 99% of the time businesses don't receive any additional support/business from donations. The only thing we receive is purely the joy of doing something good for someone else.
Please consider partial donations, like purchasing goods (at a reduced price at my discretion) to raffle or auction off, for example.
And to my previous/current donation partners, I'm still here for you! 🩷

💐 Happy Mother's Day! 💐

No matter what kind of mother you are; to people or pets, biological or not, mom to be, mom who's lost... maybe you're even a dad filling the role of both parents, like my mom... Know you are loved and appreciated, every day! Today was just an excuse to celebrate it extra.

And to everyone who chose to include my baking in their celebrations, thank you! 🫶🏼

I am thinking of coming out with a Father's Day Pre-Order. I've never done one, and I'm concerned that I'll get especially upset if I go through putting up a Pre-Order, and then don't get any orders... BUT I'm sure lots of you have Father Figures who deserve a special treat. SO I'm thinking of doing a Form where you can anonymously/no commitment let me know if/what you'd like for Father's Day, and we'll go from there. It'll be posted on here, so keep an eye on my Page! Or get in touch. I will also be accepting Custom Orders, as always!
