this summer, we’ve been receiving more community member requests for financial aid during hardship.

as beautiful as the mountains are, people struggle here.

we’re so grateful to the Lake Louise Fire Department who chose Frankie D’s as their charity of choice for their community pancake breakfast in June.

Over June and July, that generosity plus community member donations added up to $2,004.79. and it went straight back out to help four people going through hardship, ongoing support for the Bow Valley Endo Support Group, and support for Indigenous Sovereignty initiatives through Minihrpa

none of this happens without people choosing to show up for each other, so thank you 🙏 ❤️

Our Conversations That Matter care deck is being used in workplaces to normalize mental health conversations and we’re so excited about that!! 🤗🤗🤗

Coworkers see each other more than they see their own families some weeks, but rarely talk about how they’re really doing. And even if you wanted to, how do you actually start that conversation at work?

for world su***de prevention day, we’re looking for people who may feel ready to share a small part of their lived experience of suicidal thoughts, or of supporting someone they care about through them.

these conversations matter because suicidal thoughts are more common than many of us realize, but shame and fear can make them incredibly difficult to talk about. hearing someone share honestly can help another person feel seen, understood and less alone.

a first we’ll never forget 💛

thank you to the incredible team at the Lake Louise Fire Department, Lake Louise Sport & Recreation Centre, Improvement District No. 9, and the Lake Louise Ski Resort (along with countless community volunteers) for choosing Frankie D’s Social Impact Fund as this year’s Charity of Choice for your Canada Day pancake breakfast. 🥹

rhanks to your team, and everyone who donated, over $1,800 was raised for the Social Impact Fund.

this was the first time anyone has ever fundraised for us, and we’re so grateful, not just because of the money raised, but because it means more people in our community will be able to access support when they need it.

lately we’ve been receiving more and more requests for financial assistance with therapy and hardship relief.

for legal reasons… they’re conversation cards. 🍩

every donut comes with a conversation prompt because we believe it’s a little easier to talk about the hard stuff when there’s something sweet on the table.

we’ve seen strangers become friends, families understand each other a little better, and people finally say the thing they’ve been carrying for years.

turns out it’s completely legal, thankfully. 😅
