🚨 Please note: If you are purchasing bread from Discovery Foods or Healthy Way, it is NOT our bread.

⭐⭐ MENU UPDATE ⭐⭐

Look, we love baking for you, but we also love efficiency.

I've made a couple small changes to the lineup, so please read carefully before you gasp at the counter.

What’s Leaving the Menu:
- Caraway Rye Sourdough
- Butter Tarts

Why? Because they simply aren't moving fast enough, and I just don't love making them. They take up precious prep time that could be better spent producing the items that I enjoy making, and that YA'LL are clearing off the shelves in record time. It’s just basic bakery math.

To soften the blow, M&M Cookies are now available EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.

The "I Still Need It" Loophole: If you are completely devastated about the loss of the Caraway Rye or Butter Tarts, take a deep breath. I will still make them for you as a Special Order, provided you follow the rules:

- Butter Tarts: Minimum order of 12.
- Caraway Rye: Minimum order of 6 loaves.

You can place your special orders over the phone or by talking to us in person at the bakery. All special orders must be pre-paid. No pre-payment, no baking. We trust you, but we trust money more. 🤣

🚐 Meet The Dough Mobile 🚐

She is finally decorated and ready to be announced to the world. LOL!

We have been driving her for a month, but having the branding done makes her complete!

A massive thank you to the legend himself, Jerry, at Steve Marshall Ford CR for making the buying experience shockingly painless. No pushy sales pitches, just pure hero energy getting us into a shiny new van.

And a huge shout-out to Like New Auto for slapping these incredible decals on. It went from "generic van" to "visually loud local business" real fast, and they absolutely killed it.

Here is the strategy moving forward:
🛞 We drive the van.
👀 You see the van.
👋 You aggressively wave or honk like we’re long-lost childhood friends.
☕ We try not to spill coffee while waving back.

*** AUGUST CLOSED DAYS ***

We are closing for a few days. Don't make it weird. 📝

Before you gasp dramatically at the pickup counter, please consult the attached graphic. We are shutting down the ovens August 27th-30th.

We wanted to keep the shop open for you, we really did. But without Brad and I here, if even one other team member is unavailable, the entire schedule falls apart. We can't do it.

We love being your local bread dealers, but we also love having a life outside of flour clouds and 2:00 AM alarms.

Brad and I are stepping away for an event put on by Get Lost…Find Yourself that is incredibly important to us. We refuse to miss it.

Get Lost…Find Yourself is a registered non-profit society, dedicated to supporting men’s mental health and well-being through adventure, community, and connection. Through off-road riding, camping, and meaningful conversations, their events provide a space where riders can disconnect from the pressures of daily life and reconnect with themselves.

(And this is something that we need!)

*** MEET CHRISTINA ***

We are thrilled to introduce another member of our bakery family: Christina!

Christina has been with us for a few months and is also one of our night prep heroes, working her magic after the bakery is closed while Brad and I sleep.

But since she is ridiculously good with customers and has a ton of retail experience, we decided it was selfish to hide her in the back.

You will also see her out front on Sundays at the bakery (and also some Saturdays) making sure you all get your carbs efficiently.

A few fun facts about Christina:
💨 She is quick as a whip. Seriously, don't blink or you'll miss her bagging your bread.
🚶‍♀️ She is in constant motion. Standing still is apparently not in her job description.
☀️ She is always the first one to jump in and offer a hand when the flour hits the fan.

We are so grateful for her eagerness and everything she does to keep this bakery surviving the weekend rush.

She is one of our two night prep people and the keeper of our bedtime.

Here is her official Sourdough Whisperer resume:
👩‍🎓 Day Job: Animation student.
🕓 Hours: After we close. Like a carb-loading Batman.
👌 Responsibilities: Measuring flour, water, and salt. Mixing sandwich bread and English muffins. Making other random doughs. Baking cookies.
💤 Real Job Title: Ensuring Brad and I can go to sleep on time.

She keeps the bakery running while we are unconscious, and for that, she is a legend.

Look, we could write a long, emotional post about how much we missed her, but let’s stick to the facts.

Haya has officially returned to The Sourdough Whisperer.

Here are the details of her return:
🥖 What she’s doing: Making sourdough. Because it’s a sourdough bakery. Duh. She does make other things too tho. LOL!
📅 When she’s doing it: She’s back on her usual Wednesday prep shift.
🤘 When else she’s doing it: Whenever we throw her on the schedule to cover other baking shifts.

We’re pumped she’s back.

*** JODY IS TAKING OVER THE FRONT COUNTER! ***

If you live in Campbell River, you probably already know her.

You’ve probably seen her iconic yellow Jeep driving around town spreading joy, and you likely know her because of CR Neighbourhood Welcome.

Now, we are beyond thrilled to announce that the one and only Jody Higgins has offered to step up to keep the front-of-house running smoothly.

Here is what you need to know:

🤘 The Triple-Duty Hustler: We honestly don't know when she sleeps. Jody already has TWO other jobs, but she loves this community (and your lovely faces) so much that she couldn't resist taking some shifts at the bakery to help us out.

😂 The Welcome Wagon: If you're new to town, she’ll welcome you. If you've lived here your whole life, she probably already knows your regular order. LOL!

☀️The Summer Savior: The summer hustle is real, and Jody is diving in headfirst. You are going to be seeing a lot of her over the next couple of months as we power through our busiest season.

Next time you see that sunny yellow Jeep parked outside, you know who is waiting inside to hand you your sourdough.

🚨 BREAKING NEWS 🚨

Grace is still here! (And no, I’m still not her mother). 😂

Look, we know you’re going to panic when you walk in and don’t immediately see Grace up front.

Before the rumor mill starts churning, let’s clear the air: She didn't leave! Our favorite chaos-coordinator is just shifting into a brand-new hybrid role.

Here is the official breakdown of Grace 2.0:

☀️ The Summer Hustle: Summer is absolute insanity here. To help us survive, Grace is trading the register for the ovens. You won't see her up front because she’ll be full-time baking and dodging flour clouds in the back.

❄️ The Winter Chill: When things slow down and we don't have markets to attend, she’ll emerge from the kitchen and return to the front counter to deliver that top-tier service you know and love.

👸 The Boss Status: Most importantly: when Brad and I aren't in the building (yes, we do leave sometimes), Grace is the official supervisor. What she says, goes!

🧺 The Market Fix: Don't worry, she’s still running the Campbell River Farmer's Market for the rest of this season! She loves it too much to miss seeing everyone, so you can still get your weekend smiles (and carbs) directly from her.

So, if you come in looking for her during the summer rush, just shout a "hello" toward the ovens. She’s back there making sure you actually get to eat the sourdough you came for. 🥖🔥
