I’ve been putting this post off for awhile, hoping to resolve the problem. Unfortunately, that hasn’t happened:
Recently, while reviewing our home insurance policy with our provider, we learned that they do not and will not provide coverage because I am selling consumable goods from home, even with separate business insurance. And then they cancelled our house insurance.
Cue the panic.
Since then, my husband has been speaking with different insurance companies and brokers, trying to find a way to make this work. Long story short, if we want to have house insurance (which we do!), I have to shut my cookie business down. We haven’t been able to find any other options.
I am devastated.
Right now I’m taking some time to be sad. Eventually I will turn on my problem-solving skills and see if we can find another way to do this.
