Things I’m grateful for: Spring colours, doing the flower pots at the stores. Spring flowers and green leaves - finally green! I’m grateful for lemon cheesecake, creamy and tart- it was a favourite of my mother’s. She, too, loved all things tart - even for breakfast. I’m grateful for my Mom and miss her every day. I’m grateful for my children, who made me a mother, and my grandchildren, who remind me how precious each moment is. I’m grateful for the patrons who have made us part of their day-to-day and their celebrations. I’m grateful for the sound of song birds and buzzing Bees right here beside my coffee and me. They love the willows in spring. I’m grateful that all our shops will be filled with beautiful pies sweet and savoury making mother’s days beautiful all over the city.

We use only natural ingredients, no artificial flavours, no dyes, and no unethical ingredients like Palm oil. What we use to make each pie is real, made by hand, and from scratch. We make every pie by hand with our all-butter crust, and we stand behind our product. So whether it's Mother’s Day, Sunday brunch, Wednesday night dinner, or tea time with friends, we have you covered. #

Mother’s Day is just a few weeks away, and why not plan a simple but beautiful day for Mom? Why not start with a family-size bacon, cheddar, arugula, quiche? You can also order it with or without bacon, my personal favourite. A simple salad and some mini pies. No work, just time for making memories with Mom. Everything is made from scratch and by hand. For every pie we bake, we make sure we use as many local and Canadian products as possible. We also promise there are no preservatives or fillers, no unethical products like palm oil. Everything in our pies existed in your great-grandmother‘s kitchen. Reel food made with pride by these locally owned pie shops. Many of the recipes are my Mom or Dads. We are proud that many of our recipes come from families and are discovered in old cookbooks from someone else grandma. We just added a little up town to h here and there. 😆 Did I mention our all butter-pastry?

I have filled my house with tulips and all things spring. I ignored the weather forecast and had my permaculture classmates and wonderful instructor, Carmen from , join me for brunch. I kept it simple: bacon-cheddar-arugula quiche, special-ordered in the family size, and, of course, I also ordered a second family-size quiche without the bacon for vegetarians: a simple salad, a small fresh fruit plate and mini pies. The hardest part was setting the table. Yes, it snowed, but the company was fantastic, and the conversation about spring planting, a regenerative garden, and lifestyle was uplifting. Celebrating with friends is always a good idea when winter feels like it is never leaving. I know spring is coming because I saw two ladybugs sunning themselves today in a bright, cozy leaf-covered corner of my garden, and a robin was singing. Celebrate the season with sweet and savoury pies from . We bake everything from scratch and by hand. No preservatives or artificial anything. Real food made with tradition and pride.
