Two years ago, on May 4th 2024, Bagel Daze was welcomed back to Calgary.
I’m just going to take the credit, (me, Mel) for somehow convincing Matty to revive the Calgary Style Bagel. He swore that he would never roll another bagel again. Thank goodness I seemed to have worked a little magic, because well, here we are. You’re welcome 😏
In all seriousness, what a ride. The past two years have brought us some of the best people, food, opportunities, relationships, and memories that we know will only continue on.
If anyone tells you to stomp out your dream, tell them you know about this family. Tell them that this family, they built a commercial bakery within their home, and wholesale out thousands of bagels a year. They homeschool their children, and get to go to the skatepark every day. They spend time investing in their children’s life’s as both mom and dad equally, because that’s how they’ve built their business; To work around their family, not slice into it.
Tell them that passion and good faith will literally drop opportunity into your lap if you let it. Tell them that if this family can live their dream life every day, so can you.
