Somehow, here at Flying Pig Patch, we managed to go relatively unscathed by the storm on Tuesday night. The house took on no water, we never lost power and everything is still standing. We have some water to deal with in the yard, some plants that won’t make it but really be are so lucky. Jackfish Creek that runs at the back of the property has spilled over but has stayed out of the yard. We had a few new visitors last night, 3 otters looking for a place to go came up along the house and hopefully found a safe place. We don’t know why we were spared but we are certainly an island amongst the chaos. Mother Nature has once again reminded us that she is the boss.
