Today is a different kind of day. Over the last seven years, I’ve never gone more than one week without any cakes. But today, I’m hanging my apron for the last time this year.
Effective Nov. 1st, I’m taking an extended break to focus on coaching and other projects. A little over a year ago I decided to make this move. It has happened quicker than I imagined, and I am so grateful for the support I’ve had and opportunities I’ve been given. I’m also sad to be saying goodbye to this side of my life (for now!), but sometimes life happens, plans change and you just have to roll with it.
I look to my future with hope and excitement, and also fear and uncertainty. But I’ve made it this far, and I will continue to make it! And I hope I inspire you to do something you want to do, no matter how big or small it is. Never let anything get in the way of your dreams, especially not yourself.
I will be back sometime in the new year taking very limited orders, and I will be in full force for my last wedding season in 2022.
I love you all, thank you so much for supporting me, and I will see you soon ♥️

This availability is for custom cakes only, I am full for any sweets orders. I am no longer doing specific characters or logos, although I’m happy to work with you on a design that would fit your character based theme.

Trying to choose one of my favourite wedding cakes to post along with this news – I’ve been scrolling pictures for a long time and still can’t decide. This one is definitely top ten though, and after a one hour on site build, it’s the only time I thought to capture myself with one of my projects.
I will no longer be booking new weddings. *Deep breath*😮‍💨 This has been on my mind for a couple of months now and I’ve been sitting on the decision, waiting for the right time to put it out there. I don’t think the right time will ever come, but, it does feel like a weight off my shoulders telling you all today.
This will not affect anything already booked. If you have me booked for a wedding this year or next year, or were booked and have yet to reschedule a cancelled date from Covid, nothing changes for you. I will still be giving all the love I always give to those big days♥️
As you know (if you’ve been following), I’ve been transitioning out of cakes and into strength & nutrition coaching. I didn’t expect this to move so quickly, but I’m running with it and soaking up all the learning experiences and opportunities I can. I am confident in my decision and super excited for the direction I’m heading in. But, that doesn’t make this part of it any easier.
The reason for this decision about weddings specifically is because of the booking time frame. As things continue to progress in other areas of my life, I can’t be tied down to dates too far into the future. I will continue operating for a limited amount of birthday and occasion cakes - stay tuned for some booking & time frame updates on those soon.
I still have some great wedding projects coming up this year and next and I look forward to sharing those with you and going out with a bang! I am so grateful for the support from all of you. And to the incredible wedding industry we have here in Nova Scotia, I hope you all feel as much pride as I do working among such talented, amazing human beings♥️

Full disclosure before posting – this is not something I will do again, so please do not inquire 😂😅 But it was a fun (and challenging) process that I wanted to share!
My niece Jayde (aka Mini Cake Babe) asked me to make her an ice cream cake for her birthday. Ice cream cake is not something I can do logistically, but I of course couldn’t have her disappointed in a cake situation! So the project became turning a cake into one of my own.
We ordered her favourite flavours and fillings, picked it up earlier this week, then I went to work. I started by scraping and trimming the cake to the size I wanted, then added a thin base layer of buttercream to seal in the ice cream. Then I added the outer buttercream, transferred it to a new cake board, added my decorations, her favourite chocolates, and finishing touches. The challenging part was keeping the cake frozen through all of this, so that meant doing a few minutes of work, then back in the freezer, then a few more minutes of work, back in the freezer again, and so on. But it worked! And we had a very happy 10 year old with her flamingo themed ice cream cake ♥️🦩🥰
