The story behind BCT’s Wattle & Daub Cafe......

BCT (Bancroft Community Transit) has been providing medical transportation to the communities of North Hastings and Highlands East since 2001. In 2014 BCT developed a new social enterprise with the addition of our new facility fondly known as “Heart of the Park.” The idea behind this social enterprise was to find a way to support the high demands for youth transportation while supporting our youth with summer jobs and work experience. Heart of the Park hosts a summer canteen that also includes a recreational component with rentals available for canoes, kayaks, SUP’s, bikes, skateboards and scooters.

In the fall of 2017 BCT expanded this social enterprise to include our Wattle & Daub Cafe. Our cafe is expertly and lovingly run by our BCT staff and has an amazing menu of fresh homemade goodies, soups, sandwiches, waffles....plus! The addition of our fabulously cozy and intimate cafe has allowed our team to explore the possibility of supporting medical transportation such as dialysis, and BCT is excited...and grateful....for this opportunity to expand our transportation services to meet the need in our communities!

Every time you sip our wonderful coffee or take a bite of our fresh home baked delicious goodies, you are supporting youth; you are supporting medical transportation; YOU are helping BCT make a positive impact, a positive change, in the communities that we serve!
