Or plan your garden or buy a house plant! If you are unable to have your own garden this summer, look into joining a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture). Bretona Farm Co. and East Gate Farms are two of my favorites (check them out)!

My house plant to do list is quite long right now! I need to transplant some of my propagated plants to pots. I also need to transfer some of my growing plants to bigger pots! I also have some eucalyptus seeds I want to plant soon! I’ll probably choose to do one of these things today.

Just thinking of my garden, ordering seeds or caring for my plants gives me a warm joy like the summer sunshine!

✨Bright Action 15✨

Let’s get creative this week whether that’s in the kitchen whipping up something yummy or something crafty done on your kitchen table!

When we first moved into our home, I needed what I thought would be a temporary piece of art to hang above the fireplace. So I selected the colours of paint I wanted, got out lots of paint brushes and got the girls to make a painting. It was a huge job for me because I didn’t want them mixing colours and making a huge mess so I would give them a new paint brush loaded with a new paint colour every minute or so (they were only 2 & 4 at the time)! The effort was well worth it though because now I have an awesome piece of art (that I will treasure forever) and a cherished memory to go with it! Did I mention I stripped them down butt naked to do it? Skin is easier to clean than clothes!

✨Bright Action 14✨

Have you ever heard of a hot spot? It’s that spot in your home that gets messy real quick because everyone piles everything there! Well, “my” command centre in the kitchen is that spot and it’s been my arch nemesis for a long time! I say “my” because everyone else thinks it’s their nice little spot to put their things or the things they think I want! It’s also the spot I put things that I can’t deal with at the moment (I drop everything when the toddler starts climbing the piano 😬). But this hot spot has been creating stress for me so I’ve been working hard at trying to find some solutions for the space. It’s definitely a work in progress! Think 2 steps back, 1 step forward!

I heard somewhere that it’s the hours you sleep before midnight that really count and make the biggest difference for your sleep health. There were definitely many years that I could barely get 1 hour in before midnight! However, kids that rise early sure have changed that for me!

I’ve been working on developing a more consistent night time routine to help prepare my body, mind and heart for sleep.

I’m not sure who needs to see this today, but I’m just putting it out there.

Usually when we think of going to a therapist we think of it as going to the doctor, like there’s a big problem that needs to be addressed. And often that’s what it can be. But sometimes we need to understand going to a therapist as more like visiting a personal trainer for our emotional health. They give us tools and can help us to become the healthiest version of ourselves, emotionally and mentally.

No pressure to comment today, but feel free to share this post to help someone who might be struggling and needs the extra encouragement to take this step. 🥰

Happy Bright Monday everyone! Today’s challenge is to hug everyone in your household for 30 seconds! Will they let you?!

I successfully hugged my husband for 30 seconds but 30 seconds is a long time for a kid, depending on their age! I am hoping for maybe 6, five second hugs with my kids today! Happy hugging on this blue turned bright Monday! I hope it truly is bright for you today! 🥰
