Sometimes you need to make a decision …. White vs. off-white buttercream. While I love the look of a white buttercream, I prefer the taste of pure vanilla extract (vs. artificial vanilla extract ) in my buttercream. And guess what? A vanilla bean is dark brown in colour as is pure vanilla extract. Which means my white buttercream is technically not a true white. But I’m okay with that. Now, if a client specifically wants a whiter buttercream, I will use clear imitation extract instead but so far pure vanilla is my go-to because it truly enhances the flavour of a vanilla buttercream. …….Do you like the flavour of pure vanilla extract too in icing?

How it starts. Plain and simple freshly baked vanilla and chocolate cupcakes. Not as “eye-catching” as the finished product. But it’s a good tasting cupcake that makes the difference. No amount of pretty decor can hide a cupcake that doesn’t taste good to your palette. Do you agree?

If you love Biscoff like I do, this Biscoff cake is for you. It’s a premium flavour that I offer and here’s why—there is Biscoff in EVERY layer of this cake. The cake batter + frosting has crushed Biscoff biscuits (Lotus biscuits) + Biscoff spread mixed in. There is also a filling of Biscoff spread sandwiched in between the 2 layers. The cake is then frosted with Biscoff buttercream frosting, a Biscoff drip, with crushed biscuits on top. ….Easily one of the most decadent and delicious cakes I’ve tried 😋

Before I even had an instagram account to post on, I made this baby shower cake for myself years ago. …I’m not sure why I chose this design. I think I just wanted an excuse to see if I could make a cake like this and figured I might as well take advantage of the opportunity. I’m glad I gave it a go. It’s a cool design, but not sure I enjoyed cutting the cake (cutting through the belly) when it came time to serving this cake. 👀🤣
