My name is Melissa, I have always had a passion for baking but never really had the courage to put myself out there to share it with others. I have made cakes for family and friends only and have been recently learning gum paste art from a very special woman who is like my own grandmother. She saw potential in me and encouraged me to pursue my talent and to continuing learning new techniqu

es (of course she was willing to help!) - she even believed I should enter in the Stampede to which I told her I wasn't quite ready! A few months ago, a woman I go to Bootcamp with saw my cakes and asked me to make one for her mother who was a cancer survivor. I was very nervous at first because I had NEVER made a cake for anyone, especially not for any sort of cost. She encouraged me and pushed me out of my comfort zone. So, I looked at the opportunity with a "challenge accepted" mentality. Since then, I have felt more comfortable and comfortable about sharing my passion with others and really putting myself out there. Thank you for everyone who continues and has supported me in a new adventure in my life!
