Speaking of Thanksgiving pies… do you like pumpkin pie? 🥧

We have lots of edible pumpkins and squash to choose from right now. And yes, you can make pie with squash too!

Our two traditional-looking choices are pie pumpkins and Hot Chocolate pumpkins. Pie pumpkins are the smaller ones, with sweet flesh that’s lovely roasted and puréed for a classic pumpkin pie.

Hot Chocolate pumpkins are a bit bigger, with smooth, muted tan skin. Despite the name, they don’t taste like chocolate! They have a mild, sweet pumpkin flavour, and you can roast and purée them for pie as well. They’d look pretty nice on the table before you cut into them, too.

Both are available at Wisbey Veggies!

Thanksgiving is coming up, which means it’s almost apple pie time! 🥧

We have fresh, local Liberty apples at Wisbey Veggies right now. They’re not the prettiest apples, but they have a lovely sweet-tart flavour and make an amazing pie! If you’re baking one this Thanksgiving, these are definitely worth a try.

Yes, we have a patch this year! Unlike last year, you can’t see it from the road—it’s tucked out back, so don’t let that fool you!

It’s a beautiful, and lovely spot for fall photos. And as always, admission is free!
