Hello, olá, oi, hola… For those of you who have been wondering about me… let me tell you a little about myself.
My name is Penelope, a mom of three amazing kids and a Chef of almost twenty years with a focussed discipline towards Vegan baking and cuisine. I was born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil and moved to the most amazing country in 2018, Canada.
Over the years I have expanded my culinary knowledge by taking several courses in various disciplines including traditional, vegetarian and vegan cuisine and baking. I’ve been a pastry chef creating pastries and baked goods for more than eighteen years. During this time I owned and managed an event planning and catering company servicing a variety of social and business events for up to 1500 people.
Life has taken me on many paths. I followed my passion and chose the path of cooking in the memory of my grandmother. The memories of my grandmother in the kitchen, and the comforting smells that filled her home, helped establish the roots for me to follow my passion for cooking. I produce my dishes with love and affection, and it fills my heart to see the eyes and expressions of those who taste my food... this sensation is priceless to me.
I have been a Scout for over 30 years and being apart of the Scout movement has taught me teamwork, leadership, subordination, and to always be alert and to always “do your best”; notions of dignity and volunteerism, having goals in your personal and professional lives, and to always help others in every occasion.
I’m always fully devoted and committed when doing any task. I would give my last breath to keep the people that I love happy and safe. Seeing the people enjoy my food motivates me to continue on this path, my passion for cooking.
