Rocket Balls

Van Wandelen is known chiefly for their ball-shaped candies, the Rocket Balls. These round hard candies come in different flavors with a sour or salmiak powder in the middle that offers a nice surprise for consumers. The Rocket balls are available in different flavors such as salmiak, strawberry, apple, blackberry, lemon, cola and watermelon. The most popular packaging is the strip packaging with 5 balls that can be put in the spotlight via counter display. They are also available as countline product in silos and in 200 gram bags for retail sale.

In the beginning of 2020 Van Wandelen became a production unit of Astra Sweets.

Astra Sweets adds flavour to the confectionery sector. From their plants in Turnhout (BE), Harlingen (NL) and now Nijkerk (NL), they bring pleasure daily to consumers in more than 25 countries with their delicious sweets. They develop and manufacture mainly private label products, but also have a number of strong brands in their portfolio, including Frisia. Within 3 product categories: gums, mallows and UFOs, they capitalise on trends and develop new ones themselves, so as to give clients every opportunity and to surprise consumers. Innovation, quality and service play a major role in the organisation.
