Five years of Chez Martha means five years of learning... sometimes the easy way, sometimes definitely not. 😂

I thought I was opening a cookie shop. Turns out I was signing up for a crash course in entrepreneurship, relationships, admin, resilience, community… and approximately 4,827 other things I never expected.
Here are a few of the lessons that stayed with me.

And if there’s one thing I know for sure after five years: you really can’t do this alone. ❤️

Thank you to everyone who has been part of the journey, in big ways, small ways, and sometimes simply by walking through the door and ordering a cookie. It all counts. 🍪

Chocolate is one of those ingredients we never want to take for granted. 🤎
It travels a long way before reaching our kitchen, so choosing who we work with, and how that chocolate is sourced, really matters to us.
Today, we’re putting our chocolate cookies in the spotlight and sharing a little more about what’s behind them. 🍫🍪

So… who is Martha? 🍪
Chez Martha started with a burnout, a need to slow down, and a slightly crazy idea:
What if cookies could become a life project?

Five years later, Chez Martha is much more than a place selling cookies.
It’s about making things from scratch, choosing good ingredients, working with local producers, creating less waste, supporting small businesses and building something that feels genuinely human.

And then there’s Art & Cookies because Martha grew up around art and wanted the shop to be a place where cookies and creativity could live side by side.

The journey hasn’t always been easy. Being independent means learning, adapting, making mistakes, starting again… and figuring things out as you go.

But five years in, the ambition is still the same:
make good cookies, work with good people, keep things local, and build a business that makes sense.
And maybe, eventually, dream up what comes next. 👀
