#11 BRESILIENNE PIE with caramelized hazelnuts

Robbert: "At first I was sceptic about this pie because it reminded me of tombolas organised by soccer dads, selling this pie from door to door to sponsor their sons' soccer clubs. But after seeing the succes of our classic pies, we gave it a try and I couldn't get enough of it! The flan is silky but rich, not just a plain eggless pudding."

#9 VICTORIA SPONGE with peanut butter cream

Robbert: "The first weeks of the preparations for CAKE BOYS were my favorite: tasting the cakes. We would wake up after our night shifts, Sam would put on The Great British Bake Off, and we'd taste all of the cakes & pies he'd baked that night. The Victoria sponge is a British classic we adapted from judge Mary Berry. The peanut butter in the whipped cream and the form of the cake in a Zealandic knot is reference to our home in Zealand, where CAKE BOYS was born."

#8 BANOFEE PIE with coconut cream

Robbert: "At first I specifically wanted a banana cream pie in our list because it was one of my favorites. But this pie combines the best of both worlds: fluffy coconut cream and gooey dulce de leche. The most compliments we received about this pie, however, were about the cookie crust. As you can imagine, in the meantime it also became one of my favorites."

#4 CHOCOLATE CAKE with raspberries

Sam: "A lot of chocolate cakes are way too bitter for my taste. Personally, I'm not a fan of the taste of dark chocolate, I prefer something smooth and creamy. That's why this recipe is based on a classic chocolate cake recipe with sour cream by Nigella Lawson, who adapted it from a recipe by Rose Levy Beranbaum. After all, Nigella perfectly represents the flavor we look for in all of our cakes: shameless decadence."
