Apple roll cake is one of the indispensable flavors of dessert lovers with its soft cake and cinnamon apple filling.
APPLE ROLL CAKE WITH CUSHION
Ingredients:
• 3 eggs
• 1 cup sugar
• 1 teacup milk (100 ml)
• 1 package vanilla sugar and baking powder
• 1.5 cups flour (300 ml)
For the filling:
• 6 large apples (grated) (7 if small)
• 2 fingers less sugar from 1 cup
• 1 teaspoon cinnamon
• 1 teacup walnuts (crushed)
For the cream:
• 3 tablespoons cornstarch
• 3 tablespoons flour
• 2 egg yolks
• 2 fingers less sugar from 1 teacup
• 3 cups milk
• 1 teaspoon butter
• 1 packet vanilla
• 1 packet whipped cream (added after it cools)
Preparation:
1. Prepare the apple filling: Put the grated apples in a pan and add the sugar Cook until the water is absorbed. Then add the cinnamon and walnuts, mix and remove from the stove.
2. Dough: Beat the eggs and sugar until they become frothy. Add the milk, vanilla sugar, baking powder and flour and beat again.
3. Place on the baking tray: Spread the apple mixture you have prepared evenly on the bottom of the baking tray covered with baking paper. Pour the dough on top and spread.
4. Baking: Bake in a preheated 200°C oven for about 15-20 minutes, until the top of the cake turns pink.
5. Rolling: While the cake is hot, turn it upside down with the baking paper and roll it slowly. When the cake is hot, it is easier to roll and it will not break.
6. Cream preparation: Cook the cream ingredients in a saucepan. Add the butter and then the whipped cream and beat.
7. Serving: Slice the cooled cake and squeeze the cream you have prepared on it.
Tip: If you roll the cake as soon as it comes out of the oven, you will prevent it from breaking.
