CRUSTS! 🍞Know someone who WON'T eat their crusts??😏

🥖🥖Sweet Bread Crust Chips🥖🥖
2 bread crusts, sliced to 1.5cm strips
50g butter, melted
½ cup caster sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon

🍞 What can you do with Day Old or Stale Bread?? 🤔🤔

Here's an old favourite from our Kiwi mates!!

Recipe says:
12 slices sandwich bread
50g butter, melted
420g can Wattie’s Spaghetti or Wattie’s Baked Beans
1 cup grated cheese

BUT... we used Heinz and even Homebrand Spaghetti and Baked Beans.

AND... we gave some to the kids for lunch box snacks as well

Anyone else got a fussy sandwich "I don't like crusts" eater??And they make you cut off the crusts?? Or NO ONE in your house like crusts??😏

🌟Here, just bag them crusts, save it for after school and make bread chips!🌟

The recipe ingredients:
2 bread crusts, sliced to 1.5cm strips
2 tbs olive oil
1 tsp dried thyme
1 tsp dried garlic
1 tsp smoked paprika
¼ tsp salt

Our tip - we used minced garlic in a jar, mixed herbs and added it to the olive oil in a cup. Gave it a good mix up and then dipped in the bread crusts.

AND.... we used more than 2 Bread Crusts 😂

We are seeking an experienced baker with at least 2-5 years of experience in a bakery and preferable experience as pastry chef. You will be responsible to train our apprentices and for the opening the bakery in the morning, baking and slicing loaves of bread, setting out the pastries and preparing fresh breads, pastries and other baked goods. It is also the baker’s responsibility to ensure the quality of the goods are of a high standard and make note of when supplies are running low so that an order can be made. We have a full-time position available. This position provides a weekly wage and begins at 12:00am each day( Mon to Fri - 38hrs /week + optional Saturdays). The bakery is located in a remote location, 20 mins from southern Cairns turn off and does not trade on Sundays.

Duties include:
Manage Apprentice Staff
Mixing, preparing and baking bread and pastries.
Opening the bakery every morning.
Arranging the display case in an appealing manner.
Ordering more supplies.
Crafting and creating new and exciting baked goods.
Ensuring all baked goods are completed on time for opening.
Ability to read and follow recipes.
Good organisational skills.
Must be able to adhere to health and safety regulations.
Ability to meet strict deadlines.
Creativity in crafting new pastries.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $58,000.00 to $68,000.00/year + super

Throwback to just 3 weeks ago when Rork Projects came to Yarrabah!!

"A visit to the beautiful FNQ Aboriginal community of Yarrabah was the major highlight of Rork Projects’ two-day national conference held recently in Cairns on 15-16 August.

The purpose of the community visit was to assist all staff in gaining a greater understanding and awareness of Indigenous cultures, peoples and histories.

For many of the Rork Projects’ 64 staff, the day was their first visit to an Aboriginal community."
