We can reset your taste buds, so you can feel moreโฆfeel better on the inside, lose water retention + fat & inevitably look better on the outside.
Imagine going through life numbing all your emotions, all the sensations, muting everything around you....this is what most people are doing with food.
You can't taste your lettuce because it's flavor is camouflaged with dips and sauces, your fish is soaked in curry and curry is all you can taste (r you even eating fish?)... your meat is marinated because it's gone off, but you can't tell because of the marinade... and the list goes on.
Your sauces, dips, cured & marinated meats, sugar, fried food & alcohol (also non alcoholic flavored drinks), need to go.
Good news is our tastebuds very quickly reset, and within weeks they regain sensitivity. You start to feel more, and need less add ons on your food. Your food tastes good just with a dash of sea salt and herbsโฆ
How to cleanse your palate:
1. Feeding yourself is sacred & ritualistic. Slow down. Be present.
2. Cook from scratch to gain control over what goes in your food. Season your food with a dash of sea salt, olive oil, herbs (basil, sage, cilantro, rosemary) and citrus to brighten your palate.
3. Prepare. If you starve all day and get home unprepared & hungry, most likely you will fail. Stock up your fridge with basic clean food - start with loads of vegetables and fruit, that way you can snack on something while you cook dinner.
4. Keep it simple - stick to easy salads with loads of vegetables and some sort of protein. โDessertโ your life with seasonal fruit, theyโre full of flavor and natural sweetness.
5. Stay away from packaged food. Whatever you can get loose and fresh means nothing's been 'added', that way you have control over your food. Most packed food contains vegetable oils, salt and preservatives, none of which you want. 'Naked' food is best and you can 'dress' it the way you want.
6. Split your weeks in days and days in quartersโฆif you fail at one meal doesnโt mean your whole week is a disaster. Never start on Monday. Itโs a trap.
Now go and โrejuvenate' your palate.
