Scottish Flag 4 layer cake for my amazing neighbours 60th birthday 🎂
This one is chocolate cake with salted caramel sauce and SMBC. Coloured with .mill navy, royal, sky blue and white and piped using piping bags and tips
I really stepped out of my comfort zone for this one. With letter and number cakes I have it down to a fine art I know the recipe quantities and timings but this was a real challenge at every step. I needed double the amount of buttercream and the intricate time smoothing the final layer and measurements on making even layers really ate some precious time! The decorating inspiration for the finished product was also something that came in waves, I just wasn’t 100% sure of what I was expecting at the end but I stepped away for a few hours and BOOM 💥 the finished touches I wanted popped into my head. Phew! All part of the process i guess, let me know what you think of the finished product
