Sunday afternoon thought ❤️
9 years ago, we made a decision that probably didn’t make much sense at the time… 😂
A long time ago, we came down to Hamilton to visit family.
On that trip, we happened to stop in Warrnambool.
We didn’t really have a big plan.
But there was something about this place…
The quiet streets.
The slower pace.
The feeling of a peaceful little town.
We just liked it.
At the time, we were running a small takeaway shop in Wollongong, Sydney. Life was stable. We had our routine, our customers, and everything was going alright.
Then somehow, we looked at Warrnambool and thought…
“What if we moved here?” 😂
Looking back now, it was a pretty crazy decision.
Leaving a stable life in Sydney and starting again in a place where we didn’t really know what the future would look like.
But we did it.
And this week, we suddenly realised…
It’s been 9 years.
When we first opened, we only had a handful of customers. Slowly, people found us. Some came back the next day. Then the next week. Some became regulars, and some have been supporting us for years.
Then COVID happened.
Then costs started going up.
Inflation.
Ingredients.
Bills.
And all the other little challenges that come with running a small bakery.
There were plenty of moments where we wondered what was next.
But here we are.
9 years later. ❤️
And honestly, we know we didn’t get here by ourselves.
It’s because of the people who walked through our doors and kept coming back.
So for our 9th birthday, we wanted to bring back something we haven’t done for a while.

We stopped doing this special because the cost has gone up so much.
But just for next week, we’re bringing it back.
A proper family meat pie, packed with full meat filling and tasty flavour — easy to take home, heat up, and have dinner sorted for the family.
It’s not just a special.
It’s our little way of saying:
Thank you for helping that crazy decision 9 years ago turn into something we’re still doing today. ❤️
From Sydney → Warrnambool → 9 years of Gallo.
Time really does fly.
